As the pig family head to the beach for a picnic, they encounter every vehicle known, from the forklift to the locomotive, and many vehicles that are not as common, from the pumpkin car to the broom-o-cycle. Each detailed spread provides tremendous opportunity to make up stories and describe situations. Will Officer Flossy catch Dingo? Will Rollo Rabbit catch his runaway steamroller? Comments about Cars & Trucks & Things That Go:

My son is almost 2 and he just devours this book! He likes us to read him the story sometimes, but mostly we just look at pictures and he tells us what things are ("old pink race car") or we ask him to find something ("a fox driving a green tractor"). There are so many creative ways to use this book to engage with your little one. And we have both learned lots of car/truck/construction vehicle vocabulary from this 60+ page book; my son really enjoys the funny illustrations. Coming back to order copies for his friends' birthdays!

Comments about Cars & Trucks & Things That Go:

My 1year old finally started to show an interest in trucks and cars, shortly followed by an affinity to make all kinds of animal noises. With this book, he is transported into a crazy fun world of fanciful vehicles getting into "uh-oh" moments with all manner of reps from the animal and insect kingdom. He is constantly giving feedback on what he sees, and giggles heartily as we try to find "Goldbug" hidden amongst all the action on the pages.

Comments about Cars & Trucks & Things That Go:

I had this book growing up and it was a favorite of mine and my older brother. I just bought it for my four year old nephew and as soon as I showed him we had to find gold bug on every page, he was hooked. He rarely sits still, but he sat through all 40-50 pages of the book looking for goldbug. He found many of them on his own. His mom told me that he sneaks it under his blanket to read it during naptime and asks her to read it a lot! I am buying it now for my 1 1/2 year old twins because I know they will love all the pictures and think the story is funny. There are so many things to look at and some cute subplots going on during the book. It is also fun to identify all the things that go and will help kids differentiate between cars, trucks, trains, buses, etc. And it is so much fun looking for goldbug! I can't wait to look for him with my kiddos! It is totally worth the money!
