Cardinal Gates - Bannister Shield - 15'

This shield is crystal clear unlike a similar product I purchased on a different website. It is perfect for the open staircase in our house that is 30 years old (and thus not up to code). It's nice to know that our sons are safe while running up and down the hallway.

I found it hard to deal with the plastic ties and ended up with many more drilled holes in my woodwork than I would have liked. Because my banister does not go all the way to the floor, the shield left a dangerous gap where it curled under the banister at the bottom. I ended up replacing the shield with real plexiglass, which works well and is worth the extra expense.

I love that it is strong and yet it is completely invisible. It comes with a mat backing film which we removed before installing the shield. Also it was easy to install without making a big damage to the woodwork.

The picture and description states that the shield is clear. Ours is not clear, it is slightly opaque. You can see shadows but not details as the picture shows.
