Bought this car seat for a 50 lb. 5 year old who still sleeps everytime we get in the car. We travel 2 hrs. each way to the doctor monthly with this child and to school 40 min. each way daily. Needed a good one. Needed the 5 point harness. Love it. Got my daughter one just liike it 3 days later.

We bought two of these seats for our chilren and we are very pleased. We also own Britax Chaperone, Britax Roundabout, Britax Blvrd 70, and Britax Advocate 70. This seat is as big as the others, but I feel safer with our older children in a bigger/heavier seat. Our state law is now that a child must stay in a car seat until the age of 9 yrs old. I love the fact this seat allows our children to stay harnessed longer and also goes into a booster. Our 3 yr old LOVES this seat and is asking for one of his own (which is a NO since one of the others listed is his seat). We went into our local baby superstore and tried EVERY booster seat they had and of course we ended up sticking with our brand, Britax. I feel if I can shake a car seat and make it bend and wiggle with my hands, it cant be very safe in a car wreck. As I stated above, we have several different modles of Britax seats. I would recommend the Britax Chaperone or B-safe infant seat until age 2 if possible and then the Britax Frontier 85 after that. If your baby no longer fits into the infant seat before age 2, you will need an "in between" seat (I recommend the Blvrd 70 its the same as the Advocate w/o the side wings that dont seem much use after we bought the seat and saw it.) Because the Frontier 85 can NOT be used rear facing. The only con I have with the Frontier 85 is that it does not recline much, but the side wings help give them somewhere to rest their heads so its not a big issue for us.

This is the second Frontier seat I purchased for my Grandson. The first one was stolen with my son's car.

My Granddaughter also has the same carseat.

It is the best one on the market, in my opinion.

I purchased this seat for my smaller 4 year old (33 lbs)and he loves it. I read all the reviews so I knew what to expect with the cover. I have secured it better myself prior to use. Hopefully this will help keep the cover in place. I also read the comments about it being bulky and heavy. I am glad that it is heavy and I don't feel that it is bulky. This seat is meant to protect my child, I want substance around him, not cheap flimsy plastic. (I would and have recommended this product to a friend who then purchased one for her child.)

I ordered this over the phone from diapers.com and it arrived 2 days later. That was wonderful! I absolutely love Britax car seats! This is for our 3 year old daughter. She weighs about 30 pounds. She is petite. We bought a Graco Argos 70 a couple of months ago but just returned it last week. It was so hard to install and so hard to tighten the harness straps. I never could have installed it myself and I didn't think that was a good thing. My husband is really strong and he even had a hard time with it. So we returned it.
I am so happy to have my daughter in the Britax Frontier 85. I feel that she is so safe. We did have trouble installing it but it turns out that we just weren't pulling the cover aside to tighten the strap. We took it to the fire department to have it installed and they also used the tether and now it is extremely tight. It doesn't move at all. Britax seats are pricier than others but I personally believe they are better. They seem sturdier and they are easier to use. I really like how easy it is to tighten the harness straps. My daughter seems very safe and very comfortable in this seat. I feel as though we spent our money well. The customer service that you get at diapers.com is wonderful!
