I love this product. It makes it much easier on me and our girls to get a temp reading. I don't like the whole plastic cover thing that covers the ear insert but its a small gripe to a overall awesome product

We have had the thermoscan for 6 years now and it's still going strong. I have changed the batteries of course but that is about it. We are now on child number 3 and still love it. I am now looking into a no contact device for at night so I don't wake the kids when they are sick. However, I'm a bit leary of the accuracy compared to the thermoscan. Bottom line we have had ours 6 years and still use it so we feel it's worth the price.

The accuracy is not perfect but the convenience far outweighs the accuracy issues. You just stick it in your ear for 5 seconds and it produces a digital read of the temperature. We tend to take the temperature 1-2 x in each ear and estimate the average temperature. When your child is sick and you are taking their temperature every hour in the night this thing is a lifesaver and even a sleeping child will not realize what you are doing. Very very Convenient.

Although this thermometer is easy to use, and my daughter is used to it because it's like the one at the doctors office, it is completely inaccurate. I would think for the price of it, it would be the world's best thermometer, but I was wrong. Price doesn't always mean it's better than the rest. When my daughter is burning up, I believe the temp is actually more accurate than when I check her because I can't tell if she has a fever or not. Bottom line: Not worth the money.

We've had this thermometer for a couple of years. It has been the one we always go back to because it has always given consistent results. Temperatures match the ones taken at doctor's office. However, we don't ever use the first reading we take, we always take 3-4 readings. By the third reading I'm pretty sure that one is accurate. The only thing I would change is that I'd like it to have a lighted display for taking children's temp while they're sleeping - I always have to run it over to the nightlight or bring along a flashlight to see the display. While our temporal scanner seems to do a pretty good job as well, this is still our favorite thermometer. We've used it from infant, toddler, child and ourselves. Kids don't mind having their temp taken this way and often ask for it when sick. Despite the light issue, I still give this 5 stars. Battery life is excellent, we have yet to replace them.
