The cup is hard to sip from. My 11 month old, who can eaisly sip out of other cups, has to work hard to get water out of it. Also, the straw pops off really eaisly. It is already lost and I just bought the cup. Apparently boon doesn't sell replacement straws, so you have to buy a whole new cup.

My eleven month old caught onto this cup right away. She can hold it herself and use the spout easily without having to tip it back. This is because there is a straw component so the "spout" functions as a straw. I was using her older brother's sippy cups without the valves in order to transition her to using a cup instead of a bottle, so the fact there is no valve was not a problem for us, although that makes it less travel-friendly.
