I purchased this only b/c we were going to an all-day family member's wedding and knew that there were going to be several people there uncomfortable with my breastfeeding our baby. Really, I'm not self-conscious or shy about nursing (though I do try to be discreet) at all, so I thought this was going to be a waste of money (and was assuming I wouldn't even use it & therefore return it). It was great. I definitely don't use it daily or even that often, but it is great when I actually need/want something to cover up with (have used it at the beach, at our center-city park, etc). What I like best is the fact that the top edge is curved and stiff, keeping it from collapsing on my baby (she HATES having something laying on top of her while nursing - why using a blanket and the strap w/clips that someone else gave me doesn't work for her) while also giving me a view of her (helpful especially since she's still "learning" this whole breastfeeding thing and gets frantic if she un-latches). I don't think it's discreet as in "no one will know I'm nursing," but it does keep you all covered up well. Worth the money.
