EXCELLENT SOURCE OF NUTRITION GUIDE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

By Happy mother of Daniil

from PA

Site Member

I love the book. Gives a lot of info. It is like a holistic approach to baby's eating. Now the whole family can eat healthy. Before, we didn't even know about some of the foods and now, it is just great!!! I don't freeze food and it does take some time, but this is my son's health and I'd do it to keep him healthy.

Nice guide for introduction of foods and pureeing

By Candace mother of two; 2 years and 9 months

from Central valley, ca

Granola momma but helpful to identify foods to introduce at certain ages must have a general idea of no no foods to give to babies. Nice info on homemade veggies/fruits which saved me money and really did not require alot. Batch cooking means just that to reduce constant prep.

Recipes alone are worth the price

By Tammey mom to 6 yr old and 10 month old

Helped me through the craziness of my first child where everything had to be PERFECT and am still using today, six years later! Answers the food questions you forget to ask your peditrician. Especially helpful if you want alternatives to meat. Great recipes!

Great book but...

By Alex's mom 10 months

This is a great book overall. I love feeding my baby healthy all-natural food. Also, I know exactly what he is eating at every meal, no preservatives, pesticides or hormones. The only problem I have is that the book is a little disorganized - like the information was all put in there and left as is. Anyway, overall it is a wonderful book and, unfortunately, making your own baby food is a rare concept these days.

Helpful Guide

By Mother of 2

This book is a helpful guide to nutrition for babies and toddlers. The only problem I had was that a few of the recipes didn't quite turn out right. Other than that the book is good.

not reader friendly

By Baby Center customer

Unfocused and unorganized. Many recommended foods conflict with my doc's rec's for when to introduce foods. If you want asimple, step-by-step instruction on food prep and freezing, this is not your book. Too much useless info (like how to empty dishwasher) to even find what you want.

Difficult to digest (pun only partially intended)

By Rachel, mother of 1 6-month old son

from Undisclosed

This book made me neurotic because it is SO specific. There's good information, but it skips around and is not particularly well organized. It's a good resource if you're completely committed to an all-natural, organic lifestyle, but we got frustrated reading and trying to make sense of the book.

She lost me at Dessicated Liver!

By Anonymous

This book provides some good info, organized by month of age, but the author is pretty hard-core health nut. She lost me at kelp powder and dessicated liver. No way am I going to put that stuff in my baby's mouth, no matter how "good" it supposedly is. Ick!

After reading through this book, it made me not want to make baby food. Talk about overwhelming!

Great Mom-to-Mom advice

By Erica, mom of 8 mo. old

Fabulous! Yaron provides information on when to introduce various foods and how much to give (not sure why other readers missed this info). I appreciate that this book is heart-felt advice from one mom to another. The book is written with charm and humor.

An absolute must have!

By Robin, mother of 3

Filled with much useful information teaching easy, healthy eating without being preachy. The layout is user friendly, listing what foods to add to your babies diet each month, easy finger foods, and also organized by vegetable. The super porridge recipe is easy and healthy!

A Baby Food Bible

By Erika, mom of a 13 month old

from Central Florida

I seriously refer to this book as my baby's "food bible." It is the most thorough reference I could ever hope for. The author's chart for ensuring your baby receives the right number of food group daily servings is invaluable. I could go on and on, but you really need to read it to appreciate it.

A little over zealous

By Skyler's mom

from CT

A great resource, but the author is a little over zealous on some topics. The lack of organization makes it difficult to reference. Take her opinions with a grain of salt and talk to your dr. before implementing, as some of recommendations conflict with generally accepted medical advice.

some errors from hippy lady

By Jenny, mother of one

from Idaho

Site Member

There are a few things incorrect in the book, such as info on eggs and nuts. I found the book helpful for pureeing, but not for her baby food diet since I couldn't TRUST what she had to say as there were too many little errors along the way.
