I originally bought this after reading reviews about how well it worked. I put it on myself and my 14 month old to go in the yard and not even 15 minutes later I was frantically trying to shoo a bee off of him and myself. Jury is still out whether or not it repels mosquitos because all I wanted to do was wash it off quickly! Also, I found it to be greasy and very strong smelling. So overall I do not reccommend this product and as a healthcare professional I'd advise to just skip the organic and use the other stuff sparingly and on clothing.

I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to prevent mosquito bites but avoid exposure to toxins found in other products.
I used this when I was pregnant to avoid chemical bug sprays and now use on my 19-month old and myself.
It smells great and works well. It likely doesn't work quite as well as a toxic spray but I usually get bitten all over and I have far fewer bites when I use it and my daughter usually has none.
It's completely perfect for preventing mosquito bites while avoiding exposure to toxic and harmful chemicals.
My only complaint is that it doesn't really "rub in" but rather sort of stays on your skin which some people may not like but really isn't a bother for us. That's the only reason I listed "greasy" as a "con" b/c it doesn't really rub in.
Having it be a stick makes it VERY easy to apply to an active toddler.

We have used the comparable Burt's bees product for years. Recommending it to everyone we know. We even used it to repell the mosquitoes off our dog! It worked really well but was hesitant to use because it was greasy and would drip when applying. This Badger stick has been used the past few days. In my sister-in-law's front yard, filled with trees, it repelled all the insects, AND by the pool in my parents backyard. Both times many family members used the product and they were impressed with the results as well.I purchased the Badger balm stick at [...] last week. I love this stuff. I read the reviews first and noted it was greasy, but it is well worth it and really, not that bad. It is convenient (won't leak because it is a roll on), easy to put on, doesn't bother my son. If he squirms when i put it on, it just rolls another way. :) Definately recommend!

This product is the answer to our outdoor living! We live in SC where it's always hot and muggy, backyard's on the marsh / swamp and infested with no-see-ums and mosquitoes. We tried Eco Smart organic insect spray and it did not really work here. I read reviews and was wondering if THIS organic and all natural Budger Balm would work for us and IT DOES! Yes, it is greasy (contains olive oil) but I think now that this is the reason why we had no luck with quick dry sprays; and I'd rather feel a bit greasy than getting eaten alive! I hated being outside because of those biting insects and now my 10 month old and I can finally enjoy the outdoors!

This is the most effective repellant I have ever used. We used it in the caribbean, on the golf course and never got one bite! I HIGHLY recommend this product.

This balm really works! I have used everything!

This was a great product in that while my husband and I both got mosquito bites after a late afternoon/early evening outside bbq, my daughter did not. The only thing that was a little scary were the bees that surrounded her. There were 2 or 3 that would not leave her alone. It is definitely hard to say whether the bees would have done that without this product, too, but I was a little nervous because I read the other review on here claiming the same thing. As far as any other bug, she wasn't bothered. I will use this again but will also be looking out for bees!

We went hiking in the jungles of Kauai and our baby was the only one that did not get bit up because of this product. I started using it and I did not get bit. Smells like lemongrass.

The first few times I put this on my son and I, we were in heaven! It smells great, feels good on the skin, and, best of all, it works! The mosquitoes checked us out but went on their way.

Unfortunately, I started having trouble with interest from the BEES in our yard. This product contains beeswax and several floral fragrances, and this made me very attractive to two or three bees at a time. They were very persistent -- I must have smelled like home to them! I am now looking for a product without beeswax.

If you will be using this in a location without bees, I highly recommend it. Sadly, we won't be using this around our yard anymore.

If you are at all sensitive to the smell of citronella, this product is not for you. When I received it, I tried it on myself before trying it on my kids, just to see how it was. It went on easy enough, I didn't use much but covered my shoulders and arms, and I could tell that it probably would work, but after about 30 minutes I had a migraine (which I am prone to) and I had to take a shower. I didn't realize I was so sensitive to the smell of citronella until I tried this product. I can tell this balm has staying power too because I had to lather and scrub a few times to really not be able to smell it anymore. I have to keep it now because I opened and tried it. I'll keep it for emergencies though I probably won't use it much or I'll end up giving it away. If citronella doesn't bother you, then this product is great, but be warned, it's not for everyone. I'm going to keep looking.

Used this on a trip to India. Worked better than Off and even Natrapel. Loved the fact that it is deet free, natural and can be used liberally. Smells nice to and very easy to use.

We live in an area with Dengue Fever and this product has been great at protecting my two little ones. Easy to carry around with the stick. Pretty easy to apply. Lasts about a month with everyday use.
