Comments about BabySteps Electric Food Mill:

I used this to puree my sons food for him as he started eating real food. It was much easier to clean than I expected, and worked well on most everything that I needed to puree. The power is enough, and isn't too much either.

Comments about BabySteps Electric Food Mill:

I got this food mill couple month ago and am using it almost every day. As I read previous reviews I was surprised that some people say it is not durable or disappointed in general. I love it! I make baby food for my 7 month old almost every day, it works great, it is super easy and fast to clean and to put it together. In my opinion, it is very compact and easy to use also. It is a bit loud, but that does not bother me neither my baby. I just let him know that I am making his food and he is just fine with the noise. It sounds just as any coffee bean grinder and if it bother you or you are not used to that kind of sound, you should not get it.
It makes fantastic fruit purees and grinds steamed or boiled veggies amazingly. I am very grateful I found this product. Thank you!

This item does the job and that's all anyone can really ask for. It wasn't expensive and I found that making my daughter baby food was a cinch. It is really loud but even my baby was smiling when I was using it. It didn't scare her so it can't be all that bad.

This product does its job very well. I have always given my son age appropriate table foods. (Never jar food) I used to add water and puree it when he was younger. Now that he is 14 months old I only use it to chop up baked chicken quickly. I haven't compared this to any other product, because this one did the job just fine. The motor is in the white part and doesnt come in contact with the food, so the blade, jar, and lid can be easily put into the dishwasher.

In order for me to use this product, I would have to take my baby son who is almost 6 month to a different room, since it makes a really loud noise!!!!!!! He usually doesn't react on any noise this way,so I think I have to return this item and look for some other food mill that's a little friendlier to babies ears :)

This is a gadget with which I wasn't impressed. The overall design is poor, making it more complicated to use than necessary. Our Cuisinart Mini Prep food processor (which I think was only $35) works much better at pureeing baby food than the Kidco electric food mill.

Comments about BabySteps Electric Food Mill:

This electric mill is absolutely awesome. I use it almost every day. It's an easy and inexpensive way to make healthy homemade baby food. It's excellent for making silky smooth purees, or just for quick chopping and mixing of foods. It comes with a blending attachment that makes sure the food doesn't get stuck up on the sides. It's super easy to clean; every part except for the motor is dishwasher top rack safe. The only con is that when mixing tomato-based foods, the white rubber base got stained, I think permanently. But that's just a small con, and so worth having this appliance. I will definitely recommend this food mill to anyone who wants to make great baby food. Don't know what I'd do without it!

Comments about BabySteps Electric Food Mill:

The manual that comes with this is lacking...I couldn't figure out how to "attach" the motor part onto the plastic cup part. Then I remember reading someone's review saying that its a press & go type of motor, it does NOT lock into the cup (like food processors or blenders). Ah ha! They need to mention that in the manual. Once I figured that out it was a cinch. I was skeptical that this would work better than my Cuisinart mini food processor but it does. I pureed carrots nice and smooth with this and my food processor still left it quite chunky. Wish there was a chute to add more liquids while you blend, but alas you have to remove the motor and then the plastic lid to add more liquids. Can get messy, but its easy to clean in the dishwasher (except prunes...that was sticky and it stuck quite well in the groove under the blade). The cord that comes with it is shorter than most appliance cords, in my opinion. Wish it could be battery operated so I can take it with me to travel, but I guess that's what manual food mills are for.

I've had this food mill for a couple weeks and I have to say I couldn't be happier with it! Making homemade baby food is so simple with this product. The food mill is so easy to assemble and operate -- you don't even need the instructions. And cleaning it is a breeze -- everything but the motor itself goes in the dishwasher! You can adjust the smoothness of the food by varying how long you blend it and by using the "turbo" button. My son prefers the food to have a little texture to it, but you could get it perfectly smooth with some patience and a little scraping of the sides of the bowl.

Comments about BabySteps Electric Food Mill:

I've had the portable manual baby food mill and that was okay, but is hard to hold down while turning the handle and didn't get nearly a whole serving of food. For larger than one meal quantities, it killed my hands.

I tried my Cuisinart mini prep food processor, but that wouldn't puree and also, with larger quantities of things like carrots or sweet potatoes, it needed a lot of liquid or a bubble would instantly form around the blade and I'd stop, stir and start and another bubble would promptly form, preventing effective blending/pureeing.

I tried an immersion or stick blender--the handheld kind--two different ones. Those required a larger amount of food than just a cup, which was a few days worth. Otherwise, they just wouldn't get to the food at the bottom because of the space between the blade and the guard.

So I got this. LOVE IT!
The extra plastic stirrer above the blade prevents the bubble from forming without needing lots of liquid. There's a Turbo button on top to puree faster. This does the job quickly and easily. It grinds and purees food very well--almost as smooth as a smoothie, but we don't need it that smooth, anymore.

Cleans up easily. I've never had trouble with food getting into the blender part.

I've been using it for about 3 months, now and I think I like it better than the mini Cuisinart I have. For the great price, I'm keeping my fingers crossed it holds up.

I received this as a gift with my first child but hated it. You cannot clean it completely: some of the food gets into the motor part, which cannot be cleaned. I got the manual food mill instead, but if you'd like a motor-powered one, I'd get the Magic Bullet (which many of my friends like) or a small prep food processor.

After trying a couple of others that did not puree, I was very glad I bought this. It actually makes the same baby food consistancy you would find in the jars in very little time.
