With so many products on the market that are over scented this is a wonderful product without added fragrance or alcohol. Our family has many allergies to scents so this has been a life saver for us. Also, with all the endocrine disrupters being found in fragrances in all of our everyday household and beauty products it is nice to have a healthier option for easy hand sanitizing. We have multiple around the house and buy them for all our expecting friends. Even grandma and grandpa have a bottle for when we visit! Don't forget to buy refills!

I'm confused by the negative reviews of this product. Perhaps the formula used to smell bad, but I don't detect any scent at all (and I have a sensitive nose). I use this at home and have purchased multiple of the travel size to keep in my purse, the diaper bag, my car, etc. I find both sizes dispense the perfect amount and I have no trouble rubbing it in.

Okay everyone already knows this stuff smells... not strongly enough to knock out a neighbor, but don't put your hand up to your nose after using it. It smells like rotting fish to me. I could actually get over that for the sake of using something safe and natural, but the fact that you need to wipe it off after using it completely defeats the purpose. I've given it plenty of time to absorb and it never does. Usually I'll have to use a baby wipe to get rid of all the residue. You feel like you're just moving the germs around instead of cleaning them off. I use Babyganics Sanitizer wipes instead. If only they would fix that annoying container, they would be perfect.

If the "fragrance free" one smells bad, I recommend getting the tangerine scented one that is also available on this site. It smells just fine :)
Another reviewer said it is not safe because it was labeled "keep out of reach of children". That does not mean it is not safe to use on children, it just means that they should be supervised with it's use. It means they should not be allowed to play with it and accidentally swallow some. Infant medication like Infant Tylenol/Motrin is also labeled the same, but it does not mean it is not safe for children to use, it just means they can't play with it! Hope that helps :)

I bought this product because I couldn't find any Method Hand Sanitizer. OY! I wish I had just used the harsh stuff because this stuff smells BAD on your hands...I'm surprised my baby would even let me touch him with it on my hands! My mother (the grandmother) agreed -- the smell resembles trash or an old sock smell. USE SOMETHING ELSE.

I absolutely LOVE this product. have it in the nursery and use it after every diaper change. have a couple in my diaper bags, both cars, and at grandma's. Every person that has used it while over has loved it and went out and bought it. I give them as shower gifts also. "keep away from children" simply means don't let them have it unsupervised, play with it, squirt it int their mouths, typical things kids do unsupervised!! even vinegar should be kept away from kids but that doesn't make it unnatural and bad!! (I clean everything with vinegar) come on people get real. This stuff works great. Doesn't smell at all. is very soft on your hands and safe. I know doctors that are "all natural" with super sensitive kids that are allergic to everything that love this product. give it a try!

The one I have doesn't smell. Maybe I got used to it. It foams up and my daughter has so much fun with it. She LOVES it. So, at 15 months, she does the washing hands motion. She throws things away, then holds out her hands for the hand sanitizer. I got mine at Toys R us and was going to order it again from here, but am not understanding the reviews. I think the smell others are saying could be a bad batch or goes away after opening. As for "keep out of reach", well of course keep cleaners out of reach! too much of a cleaner is toxic, even if safe. The label says to use the product for babies, but says keep away from kids (see other reviewer). We are at the last drop and immediately going to get so more. Use it ALL the time, and if it smells, then use it in an open space like the kitchen where there are other smells to over power it. I was very confused that others rated the product so low and that there is an offensive odor? What? Really? Anyway, my 15 month old loves it. (Actually, she just turned 16 months, but we really used it a lot during her 15 month stage when she is wanting to throw messy things away herself).

Ok! Get it from Toys Rus, try it out. Then buy it frequently from here. Perfect for transition stage from infant to toddler!

We were driving home from shopping and I have a car load of starving kids. I pull through the Burger King drive thru and after placing the order, I hand this product to the kids in the back of the car to use and pass around. They each take thier turn using it and then the car gets quiet. Everyone is looking around. There is this ungodly stench coming from my brand new Expedition which still has that "new car" smell. All the kids start holding thier noses and yelling that there is a dead squirrel in the car. The smell became so bad that I believed them! I pull the car out of the line and unload all the kids...searching the car for this disgusting dead creature...however, with the car unloaded, the smell has disappeared.
Okay, to make a long story short, and I'm sure you all know where this is going...YES, it was the hand sanitizer. YES, it smelled that bad! We all ended up going inside to wash it off.
Mild exageration? Possibly. I can laugh about it now, but that was truly a gross day that I hope to soon forget. As for the babyganics hand sanitizer, it has been relocated.

Do not buy this if you have young children! I wanted a sanitizer that did not contain alcohol becuase I have a young baby, born 9/2009. I bought this product seeing that it is natural and called "babyganics." After I received it I realized that it clearly says to "keep out of reach of children" and is not safe. My young son loves to chew my fingers, and is constantly chewing on his own hands, so I am not comfortable buying a product to use on our hands that clearly says to keep away! The "clean well" brand is also a natural product, has a fresh citrus scent, and is safe for children. I obviously do not plan on letting my son intentionally ingest these products but I feel better knowing that one is safe.

I bought this because I like the Babyganics brand product line. It's easy to use and it isn't loaded with alcohol. I'm assuming it kills germs, which is the reason I bought it. I bought the smaller one for my purse too. The only thing I do not like about it is the smell. It has the most horrible wet dog fish smell ever! The smell stays on your hands too, it doesn't wear off. It would be more of a hassle to return the product rather than to just finish it. I probably won't be buying this again due to the smell. It's just too much for me. Even my kids complain that they smell bad...and I have boys! The one good thing about the smell is that they keep thier hands away from thier face because they can't stand the smell. That's germ control if I ever heard of it!

I like the fact that this is alcohol free so that I can use it on my babies. But sometimes it smells very bad, like other reviewers said. It's not strong but it does smell like something close to BO or smelly feet. I thought the first time I smelled it the product has gone bad and I threw it out. But all the new bottles smelled the same. I still use it since I do not have alternative alcohol free sanitizer to use on my young ones. As long as it works and it isn't an overpowering smell, it's the price I am willing to pay to keep from harsher alcohol based sanitizer from my babies.

If you like your unscented products to smell like fish then this is for you. My husband equated the piquant scent on my hands to a dogs rear end in need of a cleaning by a professional groomer. WOW! I was shocked enough to write my first product review.
