First of all, you have to use either cultures or yogurt which has active cultures in it (only plains have them all) There is no other way to make yogurt. Either with this product or with something else..
If you think about the financal side, it may be better idea to just go buy baby yogurts.. But since they are not plain - they dont have the active cultures in them which they are really important !! Not to mention all those presevatives..
And you have to make fresh ones every 4-5 days because real yogurt can easily spoil - again active cultures..
So bottom line is, if you want to give tor baby heathy yogurt- this product simply makes it easy !!

I registered for this because I wanted to be able to make my own Organic Yogurt for our Baby vs buying it from the store. When I received it and read the directions for use, I was surprised to learn that it takes 8-15 hours just to "make" the yogurt, plus additional cooling / refrigeration time.

I was hoping to be able to simply use the farm-fresh Organic Milk that we buy...but it requires that you either use yogurt for cultures or buy cultures . . . and then you have to re-start this yogurt starter every 5 uses or so so that the yogurt cultures remain active / potent, etc. . . and you also have to buy non-fat dry milk for the yogurt mix.

So, in the end, with ingredients, electricity and time costs, I think it's just as simple and cost effective to buy organic yogurt from the store.

So, if you have the time, I think this is a great product; it just doesn't quite work for me.
