I love this carrier. I used the active with my first born, but the fabric was too hot for summer weather so when the Synergy came out in mesh I bought it for my second child. I carried both my kids in this kind of carrier until they were over 1 yr old with no problem. If you try it and have back pain the carrier is not adjusted properly in the back. There are several ways to adjust this carrier, but once you get the right adjustment it is very comfortable. It is also easy to adjust, my husband and I both wore it comfortably with different settings. It does need to fit snug to be completely comfortable, but that is also a safety factor for baby. I would go for 5+ mile hikes with my dogs with my kids in this carrier, I literally wore it for many hours every day. After over a year's worth of wear it looks just about new, and I am looking forward to wearing it with my 3rd kiddo. Also recommend getting the bibs for when baby faces forward, and the city cover if you plan on spending time outside in chilly weather. Right now one of my friends is trying it out with her new baby and she loves it as well. Added bonus - it dries in no-time after a wash.

Once you figure out the correct fitting, which was very easy for me to do, this is the best carrier we've owned out of the four or five we tried. My son loves facing forward and it feels effortless to carry him. Facing inward when he is tired allows him to fall asleep against my chest.

I love my Ergo & used it for years with my firstborn son. Now, I checked this out because my second son doesn't like being held facing inward, & thought it might be a good option. My son is only 12 pounds & my back already hurts with it! My back would feel better if I tighten the straps as tightly as possible, but it makes it hard to breath, so you basically have to choose to breath easily or have your back be supported better. Not worth the money & I wouldn't buy it even if it were $5 after trying it. Sorry guys, it's a no-go with me.
