Before my son was born, I made a decision not to use pacifiers. In the hospital, the nursery gave him a soothie pacifier. I was upset, but noticed how much he liked it. I'm still buying them and he still loves them. When he is upset, they calm him right down and help him go to sleep. I recommend you buy these for a newborn.

I bought these when my baby was 2 months old and he would spit them out, they were quite heavy for him so they would fall out of his mouth all the time. I tried them again when he was 3 months old and he would still spit them out or they would slip out of his mouth from how heavy they were. I'm giving them 3 stars because they can be a bit lighter. My son won't use any other pacifier brand except MAM, just what he prefers. That being said the Avent pacifiers are very soft but they cannot be used with a clip, so I had to sterilize them every single time they touched the floor which was often because as I stated above they would slip out of my baby's mouth from how heavy they were.

This is what the hospital used at birth. The wide brim on this enables my 2 week old to hold his own binky in.... The transparent color lets me see if hes sucking, chewing....

With my first child, i tried other pacifiers first, only to realize she really didn't enjoy them. I was advised to try these and was greatly surprised to see that she took to them the second we popped it into her mouth. She turned out to be a thumb sucker, and didn't really use any pacifier all that long, but i've bought these a second time for my second child whose due june 3rd 2012. I anticipate good things.

This pacifier was actually was given me by pediatrician and my baby absolutely loves it! I tried different ones, 5 or 6 different pacifiers (One time we forgot to take it and we were far from home so I had to go and buy ones that they sell at [...]) and none of them were good for my baby . So after that situation I decided to buy more of these Soothies . And it is good for people like us that they sell it by two because my husband is always asks me where did I put it, so i bought couple packs and put everywhere - his nursery... play yard.. baby basket, in a living room.. car.. diaper bag.
