We purchased this after reading many reviews and couldn't be happier. It has great range, we've never experienced any interference, and it does a great job. We have it positioned across the room from our little one's crib and we can easily hear her. Seems to have a good battery life, it has only died a few times and that is when i've accidentally left it on all day.
I also like being able to see the temperature in the nursery.

We bought this monitor after using four others and being disappointed by static or beeping in the middle of the night. This one is perfectly quiet even with a humidifier running but when our son makes noise we hear him just fine. You just have to set the sensitivity. The music runs for enough time to settle them down and the ability to talk to them from another location is nice. The night light however is not bright enough to use. The temp is pretty accurate, we really like that feature. I gave four stars because I haven't tested the distance and we thought it would be nice if you could manage the music and light from your location. Then it would truly be perfect! Overall we LOVE this monitor and are buying another one for our second child.

This monitor lived up to the promise that we would get a clear, reliable signal from the other side of the house without interference.

However, the plug for the base you leave in the baby's room never worked, so we have to use batteries. We go through a lot of batteries since we use it for naps and nighttime sleep monitoring.

Note: If you are looking for a monitor that will detect breathing while the baby is in deep sleep, this isn't it. We can hear sighs and the baby moving around, but not breathing when he is sound asleep (low, shallow breathing). I don't think there are many (any?) monitors that are that sensitive though.

I ordered this monitor after much research, and it came highly recommended. It is true that there is no interference on this monitor from other electronics in my house, but that does me little good when I cannot hear anything over it. I turned the volume up as high as it would go, and you could still barely hear my newborn screaming in the room, much less quieter sounds. This monitor is very disappointing, and I am returning it.

We wanted to like this monitor. It has all the features we wanted, and the sounds through it are crystal clear with no interference due to the use of DECT. However, even with the volume turned up to 5/5 and the sensitivity set to 5/5, we could only hear our two year old crying when we held the parent unit up to our ear. The base unit was 5 feet from her head. Needless to say, this isn't acceptable for monitoring a two year old, much less our infant, who we bought this unit to monitor. A call to Philips/Avent got the response that the unit is totally functional and that our volume expectations have been set at an inappropriate level by our older Sony Babycall ( which is louder than this when the volume is set to 2!!!)

So, this is a great monitor if your house is totally quiet, and you never watch TV, talk to your spouse, or clean or garden while your monitored child is sleeping...

This is the second Avent DECT monitor we've owned. The first one (under Phillips brand) was fantastic. The screen cracked during a family vacation and we bought this as a replacement. The signal is good and there is never any static. My one and only complaint is that the monitor often loses the connection. We never had this with the old model and it's annoying to hear it beep at 2am! Otherwise, we like it a lot

WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! This is the fourth monitor that we have tried in 8 months. The previous 3 produced so much static it was unbearable. After searching online for "static free monitor" I found several reviews on this model. I was in a bit of sticker shock at first but figured that we would try it and if it wasn't as static-free as it claims to be...we would just return it.

I have moved this monitor all over our house and there has been absolutely NO STATIC!!! At first I was worried the volume wasn't up high enough but that wasn't the case - I could hear the bambino breathing clear as day!

I highly recommend this product.

We debated about getting a video monitor, and even tried an inexpensive analog monitor, but there was too much buzz and static. So we opted for this model and have been very pleased with its performance. We especially find the temperature monitor and walkie talkie feature very useful. The sound is crystal-clear and no worries about conversations being monitored. When our baby cries out in the middle of the night, both the sound and the lights strobe, to alert us that it is time for her feeding. I was concerned about the few negative reviews, but so far, we haven't experienced any problems and we've had this unit for almost a month now. If there are problems, there is a two-year warranty.

This is the second monitor we have had, at first it was great but after only a few months it has gone down hill. The temperature runs high, so take it down a few degrees. It does get interference and just dies on a full battery.Now the menu on it does not work and the lights stopped working. It was expensive and now we have to buy another monitor, hate it!

There is zero static with this monitor and that alone takes so much stress out of the already stressful sleeping process. We had another video monitor and still spent the money on a second one of these for our weekend home. I love the light up feature - great for sleep training. It is much less painful to watch lights than hear your baby cry.

We recently moved our infant daughter into her own room. We can hear her very clearly, without interference of any kind. You can set the sensitivity of the monitor such that if you use a white noise machine (which we use to help our daughter fall asleep), the monitor will not pick up that noise and be a constant buzzing sound on your side. When she cries or babbles to herself, however, we can hear her.

This is the only monitor on the market that works if you have wireless internet modem in your home or if your neighbor has one. If you live in a city and/or your residence is close in proximity to your neighbors (or many neighbors,) this is the only monitor you should consider. We tried 4 others because I wanted video and none of them worked - at all - we got 100% static. Video is the only thing that would make this model better, but I haven't really missed it (my son is now 14 months old.)
The sound is stellar. We have the monitor across the room (about 10 feet) from the crib and I can still hear my son breathing in the monitor.

We purchased this monitor to replace our 2 year old Fisher Price monitor. We still need a monitor to hear our daughter in her room during her naps and at night when we are in the basement and she is in her room. So far I have no complaints about this monitor. I love the ability to set the sensitivity level because we run an air cleaner in her room consistently--with our previous monitor we had to turn off the volume on the parent unit so we didn't have to consistently hear the white noise; on this monitor, we can set the sensitivity level to ignore the drone of the HEPA. Huge plus! The lullabies are a nice feature as is the night light; however, now that our daughter is 2, we don't use it much. It would be nice to be able to control those features from the parent unit but I understand that the top of the line Avent model has that capability (I see this as a plus for parents of an infant--with my toddler, it isn't a feature that I need) The temperature monitor is spot-on with our weather station monitor, so I feel confident in the reading. The talk back feature is great--if my daughter is fussing and I can't get to her right away, I can let her know I'm on my way. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend this product to other parents.

I love this product! We had another baby monitor, but the static was so bad we stopped using it. This monitor is crystal clear. Volume could be a bit louder, but once the baby makes any noise you can definitely hear it!
