These #3 nipples have a hole that is large. They are not like the #3 nipples that I expected. They delivered the milk for my baby too fast!

I don't like the Avent bottle system at all. The extra inner ring is annoying and no matter how careful i am putting it together the bottle often leaks. Maybe their newer bottles are better but I would steer clear of this one!

I've read a lot of the reviews about leaking, I NEVER once had an Avent nipple/bottle leak on me, I nursed and pumped for the first 4 months and my daughter did well with the transition from breast to bottle. I love these bottles. My daughter is 15 months old and we are still using these bottles.

I bought fast flow for my one year old. Generally he took too much time for taking feed but with this 4 hole nipple, he finishes his bottle fast. It moreover prevents him for keeping nipple in his mouth for soothing.

I have to agree with the others, these can easily be used until your baby is 3 months or older. I nurse my babies and we still use the newborn nipple just so they have to work for the milk to help them not prefer a bottle over myself. We have used Avent for all 5 of our children and they have always worked great. We love that you can also use the bottles later as sippy cups (just buy the Avent training spout to replace the nipple) to help save money.

I have used the Avent brand bottles for my last two children and find them a very dependable brand. I appreciate the ease my daughters had switching between the breast to the Avent nipple when I was at work. I highly recommend this brand. The bottles are also durable and convenient. I was so happy with the bottles that I bought the pacifiers, manual pump and sterilizer too.

Doesn't leak like Dr Browns, good flow for newborn, good size for baby to latch onto.

As long as you lock the bottle ( turn it counter clockwise until it clicks 2 or 3 times) then screw it on normally they don't leak and are great. I don't think the nipples are labeled correctly however and recommend the newborn nipple size for at least 6 months.

i love avent products. though their nipples are not suitable for the age in label. for example the so called "newborn" nipples #1 is best for 3mos up. i have a 6mos old daughter and until now she's still using the newborn nipples.

This nipple had such a fast flow it almost drowned my daughter at 2 weeks. We could not use it until she was around 8 weeks old.

Definitely not for newborn! It flows way too fast for my 6 weeks old. She chokes when she uses this nipple and it creates more gas for her.

It also leaks occasionally when not tighten correctly.

We got our first set of these nipples with my breastpump when our son was about 4 weeks old. The poor dear just about drowned in the fast flow, he just couldn't swallow fast enough. Unfortunatly this is the smallest nipple that Avent makes. Now our son is 4 months old and the nipples work just fine, and they're alot easier to clean than the BreastFlow Bottle (by First Years) that we used in the interim.

These bottles leaked all over my daughter as she was gagging on the newborn nipple. I've given these bottles and nipples many trys but since I pump my breast milk it was a waist of my time because she would never get to drink it being that it was all over her and her clothes. Most of my friends hate these bottles as well because they have the same problem. I've switched to Playtex VENTAIRE bottles and we love them. I'm very curious as to why AVENT isn't taking enough time to care for their consumers who spend way to much for their products while they aren't making any improvements.

I have 15 bottles of this expensive Avent system, all of them came with the Newborn nipple. My baby is 2 weeks old and each time I use the bottle I need to use not just a bib but a cloth diaper to keep my baby dry. Somehow the milk leaks and the baby spits out some at the side of her mouth. Tried emailing their customer service, which ironically, I found in the "Avent listens" portion of their website, but there's been no reply. That's what we get for buying these expensive bottles, should have tried the cheaper Gerber ones.

Although I was breast feeding my son I had to supplement with formula when he was first born because of low blood sugar. On the Avent system he used to inhale his formula or breast milk because it came out so fast. He constantly choked and had horrible gas after every feeding, I finally switched to a different bottle. Now, at 5 months old he uses the Avent #1 infant nipple - the #2 is too fast. Also, don't even get me started on how these bottles leak. I've taken a poll amongst several friends who use these bottles - they all have leaking problems.
