This is a very thick moisturizer - I use it on the baby a couple times a week after bathtime and his skin is super soft in the mornings afterward. It's too greasy for everyday use but I also use it on my feet and elbows.

I put this on my son after his bath. Before I started using this product his skin was dried and chapped. I tried all brands of lotion but nothing was effective enough. Once I started using this product his skin became the perfect baby soft skin that everyone dreams of.

My doctor told me to use this with my doctor when she was first born, she is 14 months now and I just started using it when she gets a diaper rash and it works great. The rash is gone in less than 24 hours. I have tried everything from A&D to expensive name brands. I plan to continue using this product for my daughter and my new baby.

Comments about Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment - 3 oz Tube:

This is the only thing that worked for us. My son has had terribly dry skin on his face it cracks and itches him to the point of his face becoming open and oozing. I'm almost positive he has eczema although no Dr has had the pleasure of seeing it at it's worst - just my luck - it's always calm looking the day we go to the Dr. Anyhow, I have tried everything, even Aveeno products. This turns his dry cracked face into a smooth surface in no time, I'm so very pleased. I apply it at almost every diaper change and especially after baths. I read somewhere that they do not recommend the use of Vaseline, so to the previous poster who recommended saving money, you may want to look into that.

I love Aquaphor and have been using since my daughter was born almost five years ago. I put it on if I think their little bottoms might look a little pink and they never get a full and uncomfertable diaper rash. I also use it on my dry cracked hands and they are soft again within a day. It's also good for the irritation of the baby's face from excess drooling while teething. It is a little pricey and I tend to try to stay low cost but I go for this stuff every time.

This stuff is useless. My pediatrician told me to use this for a mild case of diaper rash for my little girl and we ended up with a really bad rash as a result. Weleda cream is much better. Totally creates a barrier, whereas this just wipes off.

Comments about Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment - 3 oz Tube:

We go nowhere without the Aquaphor... nowhere. We have every size. I have used nothing but this as a diaper barrier, and my baby, at 7 1/2 months, has never had a diaper rash. I use it on his cheeks and around his mouth as well; he is a frequent pacifier-taker, and he is teething, so there is constantly saliva around his mouth. He had a few outbreaks of eczema, though, it didn't work will on him for this. My suggestion for an eczema treatment (he only had a slight rash) is oatmeal baths, Aquaphor wash, lukewarm, short baths, and a good moisturizing lotion (gentle, non-perfumed) like Aveeno. Otherwise, I use it constantly. I do not think Vaseline works quite as well. I am a nurse and am constantly washing my hands, causing horrible dry hands. So, while I sleep, I will sometimes rub this on my knuckles, and I wake up to really soft hands. My dermatologist recommends this, I was reading in her office, for NUMEROUS things, including dry heels. Love this!!!

Everyone I talked to who has a baby has recommended this product (including my pediatrician), but it didn't work for me. My baby has excema, and I was applying this multiple times a day and his skin did not get any better. I really thought it would work because it's so thick. Also, it's greasy; I personally don't like ointments because of this - I feel like it gets everywhere and transfers to you when baby rubs up against you.

Our pediatrician recommended Aquaphor for our baby's irritated skin. She was very chubby and would get red, raw skin under her neck. Bathing the area gently with soap and water, patting dry, then applying a liberal amount of Aquaphor cleared up her neck by the next morning. We use it all the time, and it also helped with diaper rash when Desitin made it worse.

I was trying to find a product to replace Desitin, since it's so hard to remove. I tried this, with high hopes since it was rather pricey. But it doesn't seem much different to me than regular old petroleum jelly. It does moisturize, but is greasier than what I was looking for. Not impressed.
