      Comments about Sound Monitor:

I bought this monitor after having an Angel Care monitor that monitored my baby's sound and movement constantly. He has outgrown the need to monitor his breathing, so I wanted to get this one for him so we can use our old one when it's time for baby #2. This monitor works perfectly! BUT just be warned when you use it for the first time, it will only pick up sounds in the room when your baby is actually making noise. I thought the monitor was defective when I first started using it because it seemed to be going in and out. But when I read the directions more carefully, I realized that it will be silent when the baby is not making any noise. Which is actually very nice, because I have lullabies playing in his room all the time. So now I don't have to listen to rock-a-bye baby all day long. :) You can adjust the sensitivity so that you can hear everything going on in the room at all times, but if your child is older there is no need. Actually, I feel like he has been taking longer naps and sleeping better at night (and so have I) because I'm not jumping up at the first little sound he makes.
I do wish the display was different on all Angel Care monitors so you can read it from all angles. If you don't look at it straight on it looks like it says 88 degrees and the noise bar is all the way up at the top. That's why it looses one star for me.
So, if you and baby are ready for a monitor that just lets you know when he's awake, then this is the one for you! I love it!

      Comments about Sound Monitor:

I've tried so many monitors over the years. From our trial and error, we've mostly come up with errors. Our last monitor would sound its alarm in the wee hours of the night, scaring the living daylights out of us. It would just decide to all of the sudden lack in a strong enough frequency. I think we've learned that there are too many walls to go through between our bedroom to our kids (who's rooms are on the other side of the house). Most squeal or have crazy static. THIS monitor, however has been pretty good so far. But I'm still skeptical. I've got to give it more time.

We've had this one for about a month and it's been good in that it doesn't squeal or sound an alarm, it has enough volume to hear my daughter (we put it right under her crib so she can't reach it but is close enough that it picks up her sounds). And it doesn't have too much static. We like that it displays the temperature and that has seemed to be accurate so far.

      So far so good.
