AngelCare Deluxe Movement & Sound Monitor (2 units)

We loved the idea that it would alert us if our daughter ever stopped breathing. It was an added extra that made us as first time parents feel safe. The only down side is that we cannot use it in multiple locations like her bassinet. She is a bit picky during the day about sleeping in her crib. Otherwise I love the unit. Just make sure you get the wood before the baby is born and I would suggest testing the unit before the baby comes too. Trying to play with it with a crying newborn is not as much fun as one would think.

Although it seems overwhelming to set up, it really isn't. The monitor is reliable and truly works! The sensor pads pick up every little movement and breath from my baby! We have a soybean-foam mattress which I was concerned wouldn't work with the sensor pads but it isn't a problem at all. The manual does warn not to use with tempurpedic mattresses, however. Note that you will need to buy a piece of plywood that would go under the mattress for the sensor pads to sit on. This ensures every movement is picked up. Additionally, the thermometer option is a great feature and is also very accurate. I highly recommend this to anyone who is skeptical about the price. It is well worth it.

We needed to replace our old monitor after it started to die out on year 2. We just had another child so we figured it was worth it. I decided to spend a little more in the hopes that this one will last and continue to give god reception. So far I am impressed.

Our family room is downstairs in our rancher and the kids rooms are upstairs at the other end. The reception for the parent unit works just fine in this situation. There is almost no background static which is a huge improvement. Our baby is in the nursery where the unit is- but our toddler can be picked up on it in the next room.

At first I was skeptical about the movement monitor, but after a few adjustments the false alarms stopped and now it works great. I can see how this would be a huge benefit- especially when baby starts moving more and could be likely to roll to belly.

I did not feel we needed a video monitor, so this model is the high end of the audio models and is exactly what we were looking for. We need 2 parent units so that one can stay in upstairs our bedroom and the other downstairs. I like that you can turn the nightlight feature on with or without the audio monitoring.

Aesthetically, the unit is cute. My toddler recognized it was an angel by her sisters crib. The nightlight is soft and not too bright.I appreciate that this nightlight is AC powered- no lightbulbs to replace!

My only complaint is that the parent units cannot be left "on" when the main unit is off. This means when you turn on the main unit you must go and turn on the parent unit you are using. Not a huge deal but if you do not do this within a certain amount of time it begins beeping. It is just a change of habit we will have to get used to- not a dealbreaker.

Overall happy with the purchase- curious to see how long this one will hold up!

We purchased this product when a friend of mine almost lost their child during their sleep. At the time, my daughter was 4 months old. 2 days after we began using it, the alarm went off and it didnt even wake the baby. When we got to her crib, she was still on the sensor pad and sound asleep. Once I shook her, the alarm went off. I know she stopped breathing becuase she was sleeping SO soundly. This product save her life!

I was looking in to getting a video monitor and glad I didn't. My son ended up being a stomach sleeper and I never had to worry and knew that this monitor is the BEST. Seeing your baby is great on a monitor, but KNOWING your baby is sleeping peacefully is Peace of Mind! Recommended to many friends and they all love it too!

BEST monitor! My son sleeps on his stomach, He would cry for hours at a time on his back. This monitor gives me a good nights sleep knowing my baby is breathing. No false alarms with the wood it suggests putting in the bottom of the crib. My Dad even watched my kids and figured out how to use it! The instructions are easy to follow and we have had no problems at all. No white noise coming from the parent unit while I sleep! We love it! A must buy for a tummy sleeper!

I cannot say enough great things about this monitor!! I became a first time mom in Aug of 2009 and bought this monitor after reading excellent reviews on the Babies R Us website! My son is now 18 months old and we are still using this monitor. This monitor seriously is credited for me being able to sleep at night. When my son was in a bassinet for a nap or in my room, I was constantly checking on him and making myself crazy that he was breathing. This monitor detects movement (Ex: breathing) and if no movement is detected, then an alarm sounds on the remote as well as the base. It is so comforting looking at the remote and seeing the little pendulum swinging and knowing that my baby is breathing! It also helped me because it made me put my son to sleep at all times in his crib so that he would be monitored and I could rest easy. We are close to transitioning to a toddler bed and this monitor is going to be great because if that little booger sneaks out of the bed in the middle of the night, the alarm will go off. We have had 3 false alarms and I tell you, it scares the daylights out of you when it goes off. Two times, he was sleeping so far over on the edge of the crib that is was not able to detect any movement. One time, he was right in the middle of the crib and it went off, I dont know if he had stopped breathing or not (dont even want to imagine that!) but by the time I rushed in there, all was well. There is a sensitivity adjustment if you get alot of false alarms but I am happy to get them if it means my son is safe.

This monitor is great - definitely worth the $ you pay for it. I couldn't imagine laying our daughter down for a nap without this monitor! It gives you such great peace of mind knowing its there to pick up any kind of trouble that may arise.

We have a 9 month old and have been using this monitor since the day we brought her home from the hospital. I would recommend this monitor to all parents! Since our daughter has been moving and rolling over while sleeping, she sometimes cuddles up next to the side of the crib. Depending on how centered the sensor pad is in the middle of the crib, it may sense no movement and start to beep. After realizing she's fine I can simply move her back to the center of the crib. It's only happened maybe three times and it's almost as to let me know its still working. :)

This monitor is Great! I don't write reviews often, but felt I had to write about this product. It is so sensitive that it can sense the baby/child breathing with the sensor placed under the mattress. You can actually blow on the mattress and it senses your breath. It is incredibly comforting to be able to hear the "ticking" of your child's breathing or moving. Some people may be annoyed by the sound so they have built in the ability to cancel the "ticking" and only show lights, but I liked the sound. The ONLY complaint I have is that you cannot operate the unit without the main unit in the baby room alarm being active. I would like to only have the alarm on the parent's units so as your child gets older and starts getting out of bed you could be "warned" without the child's unit alarm going off. A small issue. Overall, a great device. We had the older/original unit for our first child, we just purchased the newest version for our second child, coming soon. Don't hesitate to purchase this monitor. I combined with a video monitor so we could view what was going on in the room as well.

We LOVE THIS!!! You will have to play around with the setting to find the right one but, it's really easy to do... In the middle of the night I have gone in to pick up my son when he wakes up and have forgotten to turn the monitor off... With in 10 seconds I hear a beep and soon after the alarm sounds.... Great to know it's working!!

I am THRILLED with this product. My 2 month son is a tummy sleeper despite everything we tried to convince him otherwise. I have tested our new setup thoroughly and I now feel confident letting him be on his tummy. No more stress/worry and we can ALL sleep better! The programmable features are an added bonus I wasn't expecting.

I know some people have experienced interference issues so I was pretty worried about that. We have a 3000 sq. ft house with the monitor and parent unit just about as far apart as they could get, and haven't experienced any interference at all. We even have a Graco imonitor running for our other child and other wireless devices as well.

This monitor has seriously provided me with peace of mind since bringing my son home. The two features that have been the most valuable to me are the motion indicator icon (it sways like a pendulum) on the handheld remotes and the alarm that sounds when there is no motion for 20 seconds (that includes breathing!). Sure we have had a few false alarms to occur, but I would rather have a handful of those than having no alarm at all. My husband and I recently learned that we did not have the sensitivity level set correctly, so the false alarms were more of a user error anyways.
This is a wonderful monitor, the only one I've tried, and the only I will ever use for any other children.

I gave this two stars only because the motion sensor seems to be consistent and the monitor is ok. The interference, however, is horrible! We turned off cell phones (even took out batteries to avoid the ping on the cell tower), turned off our wireless connection at night - you name it, we tried it all to no avail). The interference was horrible - kept me up all night with the clicking and static. You can turn the monitor down so you don't here the interference but then you cannot hear the baby.
We purchased a digital monitor (Summer Slim and Secure Handheld monitor) and it's a dream - a bit more expensive but the monitor feature is great- prevents the trip to the room to make sure that choking sound wasn't anything serious and there is zero interference.

We got this for our first child who was a tummy sleeper. It was amazing and we are now using it on baby #2. After we purchased this all 3 of my siblings got it for their kids. We even like the temp monitor on it since the room the baby is in can get very cold.

This has been one of the best products we've used since becoming parents. Total piece of mind with this monitor: it monitors sounds, temperature and movement. It also works very effectively as a night light. It has a multitude of settings to make even the most worrisome or picky new parent feel at ease and happy. It can be a little tricky getting it set, but once you do it really is the best monitor out there. Also, getting the 2 parent unit set is an absolute must because even though you can take the parent unit with you, invariably it's much easier to have one upstairs and another down, or one on one end of the house and one on the other.
