While I was pregnant with my son I always worried about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). This amazing baby monitor has given me a peace of mind as it monitors movement. There is a small pendulum on the monitor that ticks constantly to show there is movement (breathing). I didn't want to get a video monitor as I envisioned myself watching it all night while my son slept in his crib. This monitor gives great audio but it was the movement sensor that reassures me time and time again. NOTE: There will be false alarms when your baby crawls into the corner of the crib to sleep. Gave me plenty of scares the first time and I only lost a few minutes of sleep by checking on him - but it is worth every minute.

I recommend this to anyone that wants a peace of mind while their baby sleeps.

Love this monitor! I had a simple inexpensive monitor for my son when he was a baby. I felt like I had to keep checking on him to make sure that he was okay. I bought this one for my daughter because I was hearing great things about it. This monitor definitely gives me the peace of mind that my daughter is okay. I am able to get things done around the house while she is napping without having to check on her constantly.

I am so happy with this monitor. Helps give me more peace of mind. Especially, at night when I am sleeping and during the day while I do housework, etc. I used to check on her constantly, but now just occasionally, when I am busy. This monitor does exactly what it says it will. It is great!

I cannot express just how great this product is. I can tell you it is a life saver, literally. I had the deluxe unit in my son's nursery under a normal size crib mattress and it alerted me when he stopped breathing when he was only five weeks old. Fortunately the alarm not only alerted me but awoke him out of his almost coma like sleep and caused him to start breathing again. I'm sure that me snatching him out of the crib also helped the breathing process. After a visit to the Pediatrician, I found that my son has sleep apnea. I had to move him into my bedroom, but the regular crib would not fit in there, so I purchased a mini crib and another Angelcare System to go in it. I rest assured that if my little man stops moving or breathing I will surely know.

If you are using this on a traditional crib, you will need to purchase a piece of ¼ inch plywood and cut it to the size of the crib. Place the plywood on the bottom, the monitoring pad on top and then the mattress. This ensures that the monitoring pad picks up movement on any and all portions of the mattress.

It did take me some time to program the remote monitors just the way I wanted. All of the options can be turned on or off, so it gets confusing when scrolling through the options and figuring out what option you are actually working with. Once it was set up, it was good to go! Additionally, I was able to link the new base to the other two remote monitors that came with my original system. No matter what bed I have him in, the base monitor syncs to all three remote monitors.

Just to clarify, I purchased a second system to travel with. The system is easily moved from one place to another. I just had a gift card and decided to use it on another system.

Overall, this is an amazing product and I would recommend it over any other monitor. You can sleep sound knowing that your baby is sleeping and breathing. Really, what good is a TV baby monitor if you have to be awake to see what is going on? Even if you can see your baby on a monitor, you still won't know if they are breathing or not. It will just appear that they are resting peacefully.
