I've been using A & D on baby for 18 mos now and when I ordered this time it showed up in a different package which looks much smaller than the one shown but isn't according to package weight. In addition, product is much "gloopier" and "gooier" than before, not as solid, making it messy and difficult to use out of the tub.
The description does not explain that it's a new package and perhaps different version of the product and this is important to know before you invest in the big size you're stuck with for a while. Usually it's great but I have to toss this tub as it's getting all over the place.

I use this product every time I change my son's diaper. He is 13 1/2 months old and has never had diaper rash as a result. It doesn't take much of the product and the tub of ointment lasts 2 months. It is well worth it to have a smooth baby bottom!!

Aquaphor makes a valiant effort but its nothing in comparison to A&D ointment. Personally I grew up with the smell of A&D and I like it but I'll admit that it isnt for everyone. However, its a small sacrifice to make when your child is suffering from itchy rashy excema that just refuses to clear up. For the first time in years I actually got to see my 9 year old with blemish free skin!

I was given some A&D ointment at the hospital to help with diaper rashes and chaffing. This ointment however is thick, greasy and hard to spread. I wouldn't recommend it.

I used A&D ointment with all 4 of my children and wouldn't dare to go with anything else. My children have sensitive skin and when I had my 1st born I tried using Destin. She broke out in a horrible rash that made her bottom raw. I began using A&D because of her doctor's suggestion and it cleared up quick. It's great to say the least and I give it to all of my soon-2-be mom friends!

We really like this product and use it all the time with our son without any problems. The way I prevent diaper rashes is to ensure that the skin is completely dry before applying any ointment or cream, and then changing the diaper promptly. I also watch out for when he (or I, because I breastfeed) are sick because that is when I normally see the beginning signs of diaper rash. This product will work well for diaper rashes, it just takes a little longer to heal. For quick diaper rash relief, I stop using the baby wipes and instead use a mild, over-the-counter, non-soapy cleanser and water, allow the skin to dry completely and then apply any heavy zinc-based white cream like spackle.

I gave this a try after using desitin for my son's sensitive diaper rash. His bottom was fine and then it got bright red after two days of use. I had to rush out and get the desitin and took two days to clear up the rash.

I use this mostly when my child gets a rash. The additional ingredient, lanolin, helps soothe her rashes. I used to use Desitin religiously b/c my mom swore by it. Didn't always prevent rashes, hard to clean, messy and can be expensive. I decided to switch to non brand name petroleum jelly when she doesn't have a rash, then use A&D or Aquaphor (also petroleum jelly with added vitamins - also expensive) and A&D sometimes works better than the Aquaphor. Definitely recommend.

I have use this product with all my children and it is a great product. With my older son, I tried other products, but found that most of them were difficult to clean. With my younger son, now seven months, I have only use this product and continue to be very satisfied, as he has never had a diaper rash. I would recommend this product to every parent.

My children are now two years old. They have never had diaper rash. It is very easy to wash off of hands and the smell is not offensive. It is an all around great product.

I had been using this product since my older daughter was born. As a mother of two I truly recommend this product. it's very effective and is not messy as desitin. my daughters have not gotten any rash since day born..........this is a must have product
