The role entails 30% ad-hoc queries. 30% report development, 30% general support, 10% configuration and maintenance, and procedure development/documentation.

About the Position

The Senior Interaction Engineer will take a lead role in creating delightfully intuitive interactions and experiences for both desktop and mobile browsers, including for the iPad, and then translating those to each web site. You will work closely with Product Management, User Experience and Development and as such you need to be comfortable wearing both technology and design hats. In addition to creating interactions, you'll work closely with the UX Designers to help turn their mockups into functional prototypes and assist in creating usability tests.

Responsibilities

Work closely with UX designers to create interactions that delight, and through that delight, lead to higher conversion.

Create working prototypes for Product Management and Development.

Rapidly iterate prototypes.

Assist in usability and A/B experiments.

Champion the use of HTML5 and CSS3 through the practice of progressive enhancement.

Final-pass QA.

Qualifications

BA/BS or MA/MS in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Computer Science or equivalent.

3+ years of experience in frontend development.
- Strong believer in building sites with web standards.

A solid understanding of basic User Experience principles.

Rock-star knowledge of HTML, CSS.

Solid knowledge of jQuery (or another JavaScript framework that translates well to jQuery)

Previous eCommerce experience is greatly preferred, but not required.

Demonstrated ability to manage expectations, meet firm deadlines and thrive in a dynamic work environment
