Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

I have just loved this little crib. Being a first time grandparent that gets to babysit and have sleep overs now and then, this is PERFECT! It is so sturdy even the toddler stages won't budge it. I went ahead and purchased the Baby Mod mini crib mattress at my local wal-m discount store, because the thin pad that came with didn't seem like it would be comfortable. This mattress was a perfect fit for this crib. I used regular crib sheets by buying those stretchy mattress bands that hold the sheet tightly underneath. My granddaughter slept in this crib from being just days old to just now outgrowing it at 16 months old. Definitely a five star rating on this crib!!!

Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

I received this product with the 1" pad which was insufficient as many reviewers said. SO I went online and purchased a true mattress with the dimensions indicated on the pad 38x24. However, when I received it, it did not seem to fit the bed and looked 2" too big! So I called Million dollar baby to ask them what I should do since they sold a bed with a pad that have the incorrect dimensions. No news so far. Reading the previous review, I turned the fixations of the platform downwards so I could fit my mattress in. It was a long journey but finally made it. The crib looks very nice, great finish and sturdy. The dimensions written are incorrect, the bed is may be 1" smaller and the pad is not 38x24. By making the change on the platform, you can fit a 38x24 mattress but wont be able to use the last level of the platform (too high).

Not all mattresses fit
By Mom of OneVerified Reviewer from Santa Barbara, CA on 6/19/2009

Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

The dimensions given for this crib are accurate but the mattress platform has brackets that cut into these dimensions which means you need a smaller mattress. I did LOADS of research and reassured myself that the 5" spring matress with rods was going to be OK. I checked the height issue and compared against the Da Vinci mattress dimensions. Their matress is actually SMALLER than the given dimensions so that it will fit in their own crib. Very annoying. I ended up flipping the brackets so they were underneath and not in the way. Means the crib wont drop as low as it needs to be but I'll deal with that when I get to it - having an organic mattress was more important to me. Da Vinci customer service were not very appologetic.

Great in-between crib

Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

This is a great in-between crib. We had our son in a bassinette until he was 3 months old, but he quickly outgrew it. We were looking for something bigger than the bassinette but smaller than his full-sized crib that we could keep in our bedroom. This crib is the perfect size. It's also very study, but we recommend ordering the DaVinci 3" mattress to go along with it - the pad that comes with it is flimsy and cheap. Overall we are very pleased with the product.

Great Mini Crib

Pros:
Easy to assemble

Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

I put together this crib in an afternoon by myself and it was really easy. My son is 6months old and huge for his age but he still has plenty of room. Only con is that the mattress it comes with is very thin, get the 3 inch one. Standard size pack'n'play sheets fit it perfectly.

The thing I like most about this crib is that although it is small enough to go in the master bedroom, it is a crib--- not a pack n'play!

Perfect size for small home.

Easy to put together, Perfect size

Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

I got this mini crib instead of buying a basinett and full size crib. I figure that I can use it in my bedroom for a few months and then move it into the nursery without having to buy two different products. The construction is sturdy and the directions were easy to follow, although I did print off a picture for reference. I put it together myself, at 35 weeks pregnant, in a little over an hour. I was under the impression, however that I would recieve an actual metal spring mattress with the crib, and did not. Also, I was confused as to whether or not I needed a seperate mattress, aside from the included pad. I think the pad itself is sufficient, but I still will buy a seperate, thicker pad. Overall, great product for the price and I think i'll get some great use out of it!

Great Buy
By proud momma of AJSite Member from Bronx, NY on 8/24/2008

Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

We purchased this crib to use in our small one bedroom apartment. The size is just right for our son's first year. The crib is sturdy and we've received many compliments. We're very pleased! We did purchase another mattress to place over the thin pad that came with the crib. For the bedding, we ordered the Organic Velour set available on this site as well as the portable crib jersey sheets.

Love it, but not sure about mattress board
By New momSite Member from Dallas TX area on 6/17/2008

Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

PROS: it's cute, sturdy, & of course it will turn into a TWIN bed when we're ready. CONS: mattress board is very thin plywood so we're not quite sure it will stand up to a jumping toddler. A thick mattress will help distribute the weight but we'll probably add supports. Although, once he can stand up the board is supposed to be all the way down (9" from the ground) so if it DID break he wouldn't fall far.

Excellent Crib
By Mom of 2 and 4 on the waySite Member from Twin Cities on 6/12/2008

Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

Love this crib sturdy, easy to put together, space saver will be putting 4 babies in 1 room. put together myself at 15 weeks Pregnant w/Quads my 21 month old and 4 year old "helped" me. Took 1 hr & 20 minutes , very easy to put together, print out the finished photo because instructions use very generic photos so they can use same for all mini cribs. Bought a Naturepedic Mini Crib Mattress fits nicely, 21 month old fits in fine with room. Crib does recommend not Using Mattress over 5" thick.

Love this crib
By Lisa TSite Member from Santa Cruz CA on 5/9/2008

Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

We just bought this crib for our first child in Coffee color. The picture just doesn't do the color justice, the finish is a gorgeous chocolate brown! Also the crib came carefully shipped in bubble wrap so there were no defects. I love ordering from this website and love that they stand behind their products verses other stores such as Babies R US online. These prices cant be beat.

Great fit for us.
By Belinda, a mama of a 5month old.Site Member from Brooklyn, NY on 4/21/2008

Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

The Emily mini crib was such a great fit for us. We live in Brooklyn, NY in a small apartment. The other cribs were just going to be taking too much space so we were happy when we heard of the mini crib. We have had it for 5 months now and we love it. I recommend it to everyone but especially parents with small spaces. The price is awsome.

Beware when buying a mattress for this crib
By Frustrated shopperSite Member from California on 4/14/2008

Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

Like others I chose to get a thicker mattress. After a lot of research I chose a 24x38 5.5 inner spring mattress (not the one by Da Vinci). However, although the inner dimensions of the crib are 24x38, the mattress platform is 23 3/4 x 36 1/2 and is bracketed at the ends. This means a mattress with rod supports larger than 36.5 doesn't fit. Although advertised as 24x38, their mattress is smaller and I imagine a foam one could be squeezed in. Beware if you intend to buy a spring mattress.

Perfect for Grandparents
By Tom, new grandpaSite Member from Little Rock on 11/8/2007

Comments about DaVinci Emily Convertible Mini Crib - Ebony:

It's small enough to not consume a lot of floorspace but big enough to keep the baby in place and not feel cramped. We used portable crib (24x38) accessories-sometimes hard to find. It came with a 2 inch mattress pad, but we picked up another (another store) to give the support we felt was needed-crib sheet corners will fit over both mattress pads. The unit is very sturdy and the various height settings will allow us to use it until the baby's around 2 or so. Oh yea, and it looks great.
