As a new mother, I was very worried about SIDS and wanted to know every movement my daughter was making. The monitor was awesome for the first week. I could roam the house with the monitor buckled on my jeans and the lil' one in the crib but then it just went down hill. I noticed the battery was not lasting longer than a few hours after being charged. Then I would walk into the other room and it was go in and out of service. With in a few weeks I cannot take it off the charger for longer than 10 mins., it beeps all night (even in the charger), it goes in and out of service and it had an irritating background noise. My wall shares our babies crib wall and we hear her better thru that than this monitor.

This monitor works great for us. Our house is only 1250 sq ft and we have no problem inside the house nor anywhere on our 1/2 acre property. It does have a bit of background static, and when the forced air heater is blowing makes listening difficult. But all in all I would recommend this to anyone.

We got this monitor when our second daughter was born. We picked it because it says it has such great range. We don't have a very big house (~1000 sq ft footprint) and could not use it outside on our back deck during the summer. That was out of range. Even inside the house the range is limited. We've tried different channels and nothing seems to increase the range. So we bought another Fisher Price monitor (the same one we had for our older daughter). I would not recommend this product.
