I do use the bjorn everyday and my 3 month old now likes it and loves to walk around face forward in the grocery store in it or face in to go to sleep (hated it at first). However, the fabric is not as comfy for her as the original bjorn (my sis has one i have borrowed) and the straps are weird and in her face when she faces in so I have to leave one or both undone and hold her head most of the time so it's not exactly hands free... I also dont understand how it is more supportive on the back... it hurts me... maybe the short torso thing... I would try the ergo or moby wrap or original bjorn rather than the synergy.

I received this as a gift from my sis-in-law and began using it when my son was 3 weeks old. It is a lifesaver! I have 3 boys (7,3 & 5months) and this is great for shopping since I can put the 3 y.o. in the cart and have the baby on me. I am 4'11" and "busty" and my son is very large (already 22lbs and in 12 month clothes at only 5 months)and I am able to carry him around easily and comfortably for hours while shopping. I have used a less expensive brand carrier in the past and had to take it off within an hour due to no back support. This supports your back and forces you to have good posture. I get compliments on it everywhere I go! A must have in my book!

I bought this when my daughter was a newborn and it was a lifesaver. It fit her 8 lb body just fine and fit my petite frame as well (I'm 5'2"). It was easy to take her out once she was asleep without disturbing her. She is now six months old and we have to retire it. She is nowhere near the height or weight limit at only 14 lbs, but my back and shoulders cannot take the strain anymore. We will continue to use this for short periods of time...or at least until my Ergo is shipped.

carrier works well, but doesn't give enough back support for shorter people (I'm 5'3") with short torso as the shoulder strap won't tighten enough for the carrier to fit properly to give back support. For taller people, or for people with longer torso, it would probably work well. Also, even if it is recommended for 8-lb/21in and above infants, at that low range, the carrier was still too big. Daughter didn't really fit well until she was well past 23in tall.
