We got the Diaper Genie II Elite for my baby shower. The refills are really easy to load and empty. They're a bit bulky because you end up with this long "diaper snake" as we call it, but if you fold the two ends together, it's not too hard to carry. We always double knot the bottom and top and we've never had any tears.

It was tough with twins in the very beginning because they went through SO MANY diapers! We had to empty the pail every two days. But now, it's only about twice a week. The worst part is that the thing gets smelly pretty quick. I've tried diaper pail deodorizers but they don't do much. However, it's only really bad on very hot days.

Aside from it being a little bulky and awkward to carry, I only have one other complaint. They have a dark brown stripe to warn you when it's getting near the end. It's pretty hard to see, and it stops before the end of the roll. So if you miss it, which we've done, you stick in a dirty diaper only to discover there's no plastic bag left. It would be better if it was a brighter color. But as long as you know to look for it, you'll be ok. It's only happened a couple times in 10 months.

The Diaper Genie II and its accompanying refills are very handy. You open the genie with your foot, drop the offending diaper in the hole, and it's gone. I found that when you open and close the genie, some smells can waft out, but they're not bad enough for me to complain. My baby's room is set up such that my genie is located very close to the furnace vent, which I was sure would spell disaster, but surprisingly, the extra heat didn't cause disgusting smells to leak from the genie. That was a true test of its odor-free claims!

I have two dogs who like to get into the trash. They would love nothing more than to find a bag of dirty diapers and spread the contents throughout the house. They haven't been able to get into the Diaper Genie, and in fact rarely even notice it's there--which means the odors probably aren't very strong.

This modern convenience is worth every penny in my opinion!

My husband and I are sharing a room with our newborn right now. I can't tell you what a life saver these are. We didn't have it for about a day after our daughter was born. (we naively thought a trash can would suffice.) and discovered how difficult it is to sleep, much less do anything else, in the bedroom when you're trying to keep yourself from throwing up. This product works so well that even on her messiest diapers, as soon as I put it in the pail, the smell is gone, instantly. The [$]or so we spend a month on refills is totally worth that.

These work well and do a good job of blocking odor. My main complaints are that they're pretty expensive and, if you're not careful when you're emptying the Diaper Genie, you'll waste a lot of the bag. Before cutting, definitely remove the bag and shake/push the contents down first.

WHEN I FIRST GOT PREGNANT, I GOT ADVICE FROM EVERY PERSON I KNOW, I JUST IGNORED THE ADVICE THAT I WAS GETTING INCLUDING THE ONE FROM MY MOTHER- IN -LAW ABOUT HOW IT WAS NOT WORTH GETTING A DIAPER GENIE. I DID GET ONE AND I LOVE IT . IT DOES NOT MAKE MY DAUGHTERS ROOM SMELL AND I ALSO DO NOT HAVE TO SEARCH THE HOUSE FOR EMPTY GROCERY BAGS TO DISPOSE OF THE SMELLY DIAPERS.

The big annoyance with this system is that it tends to use more film than one needs if one's not conscientious. The first few times through, we got only 100-120 diapers in each refill rather than the advertised 180. Now, every time I change the bag I undertake a somewhat awkward maneuver, lifting up the bag, placing its bottom outside of the canister, then shaking the diapers down, so I can cut the film close to the top diaper. This usually gets us pretty close to 180 diapers per refill. Otherwise (as when my better half changes the bag, or when the diapers are particularly smeary), the diapers end up in the bag loosely. Which is irritating, as you'll pay [$] for a refill every two weeks. Now, we usually get three and a half weeks, but not without effort. Overall, the system is a bunch better than the Diaper Champ. With that we changed every 24-36 hours, even with only one kid's pollution, while this we change every 48-72 hours.

With my first son, I had a traditional trashcan. When I found out I was pregnant again the diaper genie II was the first thing we bought. It really does help keep odors sealed in. To cut down on the cost of refills, I throw pee diapers in the traditional trashcan and smelly ones in the genie. After 5 months and two children I have only changed the bag canaster on it twice!

We had the original Diaper Geni with our fisrt 2 children who are now 9 abd 8. We like it then but we didn't like empting it because the little bundles would unravel. The Diaper Geni II is so much better and keep the orders out just as much as the orginal and a lot easier to empty and there is no wasted bag. We like the Diaper Geni II so much we have 2 of them: one for each level of our home.

I bought this last minute and boy am I glad. My daughters room never smells like diapers even when I'm emptying it. The best thing is its easy to use. The only problem I had was the seam on the bag tore a couple of times when I was pushing the diapers down, jut can't use force. Iwould recommend this to any first time parent.
