I started my son on sippy cups at 5 months. I have not had any problems with leaking. I bought the playtex cups and the spout is way to had and my son won't use them. We are sticking with Avent. The spout is soft and easy for him to get the juice or water out if. They are the only brand I will use!!!

i recently bought an avent sippy cup thinking it would be great since i see so many people using the avent bottles. we always buy the playtex sippy cups which never leak but we thought we would try the pink avent sippy with a cow on it b.c my daughter loves farm animals. well it was nothing but a waste of money! it is the same as this cup and it leaks terrible. the 2nd time we used it is when it started to leak all over. i tried everything to make it stop but it doesnt...and all sippys do leak but not like this one! i literally had a pool of juice soak into my recliner! i recommend the playtex sippys..they never leak and are so easy to clean. my daughter loves to throw her cups and the spouts never fall out of the playtex and they are much cheaper than most sippys. hope this helps!

I am very happy about the fact, that all nipples and sippies by Avent are interchangeable. I wouldn't buy any bottles previously, just buy nipples and use this cup instead. Doesn't leak and has a good flow, but the tip is thin and different from the other cups we've used, so my boy isn't used to it yet. Hard to clean the tip, but playtex cup that I have has some piece inside that allows for slow or fast flow is impossible to clean at all. I like it, but more suitable for older infants(i think it says 12 months on it, we started at 9 with this cup and 6 with the other cups)

These are horrible sippy cups
By laylaeomommyVerified Reviewer from Arlington, TX on 11/6/2008

Hard to clean, Leaks, Messy
Best Uses:
Crawlers, Toddlers

These sippy cups are hard to clean and my daughter who wasn't even one year old at the time figured out how to unscrew the lid (it really isn't that hard) and pour the milk all over my car! The cups do not lock when closed very well and open and leak if dropped. The valve is hard to pull off to clean unless you have long fingernails and rips easily when removing if pulled to hard. I would not buy these again.

I can't begin to tell you how many sippy cups we have tried over the course of three children. This one is BY FAR the best we have used. It is true that it can leak if you don't seal the cap properly. Make sure the threads on the cap are clean and dry and the spout is clean and dry when you put it together and press it FIRMLY into place. If you find it to drip simply loosen the cap and retighten. This always solves the problem for me. I own 8 of these cups and am just about to buy some more.

All sippy cups leak. This one worked for me. My daughter was breastfed and would not take a bottle while I was at work. She was able to use this IN PLACE OF a standard bottle. They have different sippy tips for avent products depending upon their age, so all I had to do was change them out as she got older. I started with the early really soft tip and used it all the way until she needed the sportster top.

i had to purchase a lot of sippy cups to try and find one that doesn't leak. this leaked - milk seeps through the hole. my 7 month old didn't take to bottles after breastfeeding, so i had to go straight to sippy cups. maybe she was too young, but now at 11 months this still leaks. i never found one that didn't leak, so she drinks with toddler cups now or through a straw.

Comments about Avent Magic Cup 7 oz - 1 pk:

I purchased this sippy cup due to the BPA free statement on the package, and have read good reviews on Avent products in the past (although I have never used any). This cup leaks all over the place! I even contacted Avent/Phillips to see if there was a way to resolve this, and they told me to clean or replace the spout. What? It's a new cup. I found out the Playtex cups (except Little Einsteins) are already BPA free. And, they don't leak! We're sticking with Playtex!!!

Nice idea, but leaks a lot!

Leaks

Comments about Avent Magic Cup 7 oz - 1 pk:

At first we liked this cup because it is one of the only ones that comes with a cap. My daughter also liked the soft spout. Shortly after we bought it though, it began to leak. I bought another, thinking it was a fluke, and that one leaked too! If you only use it for water, I guess it would be ok. Otherwise, watch out for a sticky mess!

Not magic...
By AJ's mom from Chicago, IL on 3/13/2008
Cons:
Hard to clean, Leaks, Messy
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Avent Magic Cup 7 oz - 1 pk:

I do not recommend this sip cup for babies who are just learning to use one. It leaks during use, and will leak if dropped - or placed in a diaper bag or purse. It's difficult to clean the valve (you can remove the valve on other cups, and actually clean inside), but on this one you can see the liquid stuck inside the top. I originally liked the idea that the sippy part could also be used with my Avent bottles, but still - a leaking mess. Try another brand.

This cup does allow for easy sipping, but mine leaked at times through the little air vent and it was hard to keep clean although most sippy cups are.

Best sippie cup

Comments about Avent Magic Cup 7 oz - 1 pk:

This is by far the best sippie cup I've tried. I've previously tried born free, nuk with latex tips, and playtex's baby einstein sippies. I couldn't even sip through the baby einstein cup. I had to remove the valve and then of course it leaks when tipped. The other two were much easier to sip through but the nuk latex holes starting sticking together and you couldn't sip through without alot of work and the born free started leaking. The avent magic sip is by far the easiest to sip through. My baby is actually drinking instead of having to gum the tips to get liquids!! The only problem I've had is that when the cup is dropped from the high chair the top loosens and can leak fluid.

we have tried reassembling this thing in every way we can think of- and it ALWAYS leaks. It seems to get a back pressure of sorts so milk leaks out the vent hole after the very first sip, and continues to leak even if kept upright. I took this cup on vacation with us recently- big mistake. I ended up using disposable cups with straws instead because they were cleaner!
