Comments about Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR Booster Car Seat - Chili Pepper:

It's hard to find a review of the Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR, so here it is.

The best features of this car seat are:
1) sturdier than most other boosters so feels substantial and safe.
2) Very stylish, hip, modern styling. My daughter loves the Chili Pepper color.
3) Easy to adjust the height of the seat, and the side wings adjust in and out depending on the size of your child. Several other car seat boosters were too narrow for my child, but because the side wings adjust on the Maxi Cosi, there is room for her shoulders.
4) The head rest and wings project out some to be protective, but not so much as to be uncomfortable.
5) This car seat feels comfortable to my daughter and appears to have enough padding. We tried another booster in a store that she and her friend declared to be too hard and uncomfortable. 6) the booster seat back is detachable. So when your kid is older, you can just use the seat bottom as a booster.
7) The path to thread the car seat belt is marked in red on the booster-- making it easier for a kid (or parent) to install and buckle the booster correctly.

In addition, it has an optional cup holder that extends to the side. It also can adjust to slightly recline for a nap. In my opinion, it only reclines slightly, barely noticeable.

Three possible negatives include
1) The car seat belt threads though a narrow slot at shoulder height of the booster-- it is slow and annoying to thread and unthread the seat belt. The positive of this feature is that the car seat belt will stay threaded though the booster (safety feature). However, if you need to move this booster to different positions in your car or move it to other cars, it is slow and difficult to do so.
2) As you raise the height of the booster, you need to make sure that the top of the booster is supported by the seat back or the head rest. The top of your kid's ears (or higher) needs to line up with the car's back seat or the car's head rest. This is listed on page two of the booster's instructions. Apparently many booster seats have this as a safety requirement. So it depends on the configuration of your specific car and how it fits with a specific booster.
3) This is one of the most expensive car seat boosters that I saw on the market. Although I never skimp on safety.
