Comments about DaVinci Emily 4-in-1 Crib - White:

When I was pregnant with my first I spent a long time looking for cribs and found this one, its a great crib at a affordable price.
We have the natural finish and I get a lot of compliments on how nice the crib looks and how sturdy it is. There is so much room for the baby to sleep and she enjoys sleeping in it as well.
The only problem I have with the crib is the mattress sizing, it does not take a standard size mattress and there is about a 2 inch gap on one side of the mattress/crib side.
I do not know how it will handle with my teething baby but I have gotten teething rail guards so she does not damage the sides.
I will be buying another when I have a second child.

Comments about DaVinci Emily 4-in-1 Crib - White:

This is one item I wish we waited to purchase. We purchased a Storkcraft (chelsea) crib before our child was born. He was in that crib for a few months. There was a recall on the drop-down slide of the crib. We returned the crib, thankfully [...] took it back. We bought this crib instead. Our child is now 6 months old and I feel much safer putting him in this crib versus a storkcraft crib. First and foremost, million dollar baby company has NEVER had a recall on cribs. Secondly, all parts are metal (storkcraft had a few parts that were made out of wood that were questionable how well they would hold up). This crib HAS a box spring! There are NO wooden slates like the storkcraft Chelsea crib we owned. My child feels more comforable in this crib--we are using the same mattress. For the past three months my child has been rolling over. In this crib for some reason it seems to have more space. He seems to NOT have his arms/legs stuck in this crib as much as the storkcraft even though he is more mobile now. Overall, I would NOT trust any drop down slide after reading about the recalls on them with storkcraft. This product is perfect and sturdy and does take a while for my husband and I to put together. The storkcraft was much easier to put together. But this crib seems to have been made and shipped a lot nicer! The finish seems to hold up much better as well. Overall, I wish I bought this crib to begin with. We love the fact that as our child gets older, we can move the box spring down 4 times versus only two times with strokcraft crib. Really the drawer doesn't bother me to much. I am just happy he is in safer crib. Also, I would not suggest a pregnant person putting this together with or without a spouse. It is very HEAVY!!

It took my husband about an hour to assemble. The finish does scratch easily, but it doesn't bother us at all. We expected it after reading the reviews. Beautiful color.

Comments about DaVinci Emily 4-in-1 Crib - White:

My son is now 2 and we are looking to purchase another crib for the one on the way. Let me start by saying I really love this crib. It does scratch rather easy but ours is ebony and looks great despite the dings. My only concern (and more now that my son is a toddler) is that the design, having the rail above the front slatted part, leaves a perfect spot for him to try and get his foot in and haul himself over the railing -- even with the mattress on the lowest setting. While this has not occurred yet, the "writing is on the wall" and we know it's a matter of time before my monkey tries to climb out. Let me also say that my son is tall for his age and this may not be a true problem for most other kids. BUT we will not purchase this crib for the new addition (just in case). In the end though, I really have only positive things to say about the crib.

watch out for matress sizing

Comments about DaVinci Emily 4-in-1 Crib - White:

We just put ours together and it is beautiful. It took us a while but we took our time with it. A couple of the bolts were hard to get in just right and sometimes had to remove and fuss with them to get them to take hold. At one point we thought there was something wrong with one of the diagonal ones but persistence paid off. The only thing I don't like about this crib is that I had already purchased a standard-sized matress that I made sure had a nice tight fit on several other crib models. On this crib there is a big gap at one end (I can easily stick my whole arm down the side). Since I was convinced this was "the" mattress I had already unwrapped it, and now I can't take it back, so that was a big waste of money and I am not sure what to do. The gap is definitely too much to be safe for baby. Maybe the davinci matresses would run a little bit bigger? The crib supposedly takes a standard mattress but I know the mattress I purchased is a tight fit in a standard sized crib, and the crib sheets are also absolutely snug on it, so I have to say there is something non-standard about the sizing of the crib. However, otherwise it is very pretty and seems very sturdy and I would recommend it. Just be careful when selecting your mattress.

Beware of poor quality finish!

Comments about DaVinci Emily 4-in-1 Crib - White:

This Crib is great for Newborns because they dont roll over yet! Otherwise parents beware the paint chips and once your child can roll over and start gnawing on the crib, they'll have a mouth full of paint/finish! My son now goes to sleep in a pack-n-play to avoid him eating paint and even the wood from his crib!
We purchased the Natural Finish crib and its beautiful but not worth watching your child eat away at the wood varnish!
While changing the crib sheets, my fingernail scratched the paint! The paint comes off too easily...
Plus, by the time we can convert the crib to a toddler bed it'll be covered in teeth marks and various other random scratches!!
We plan to refinish it with a better quality paint. But until then I guess the pack-n-play will be his bed... what a waste of money.

Gorgeous, classic, sturdy crib

Cons:

Best Uses:

Comments about DaVinci Emily 4-in-1 Crib - White:

My 14 month old son has been using this crib (mostly) since he was born. When we first assembled it, my husband and I agreed that it was so much prettier in person than depicted online! My mother also commented on how lovely it was, and thought it must have been very expensive. This crib was not difficult to assemble, sturdy, durable, and looks great with our bedroom furniture. Since the wood is a bit soft, it does scratch from my son banging toys or whatever...but not so much so that it looks ugly. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Perfect for our preemie twins
By Twin MommyVerified Reviewer from Kansas on 1/20/2009

Durable, Good Value, High Quality
Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

Comments about DaVinci Emily 4-in-1 Crib - White:

My husband and I purchased one of the Emilys for our preemie twins and we love it! The boys shared the bed until they became more active, and now we are about to purchase a matching one! We love the sturdiness of the piece and also the ease of moving it (when pacifiers go flying!!). The only difficult part was trying to find a mobile that fit along the wide rails (but we did!!).

Pretty but...
By Mom who doesn't like peeling paint... from Seattle, WA on 1/15/2009
Pros:

Bottom Line:

Comments about DaVinci Emily 4-in-1 Crib - White:

I thought this crib was really pretty but the paint peeled off in my baby's mouth. If he sucked on the bars the paint would be all over his mouth. I got rid of it right away after this. Maybe it would be better to get a wood crib and not the white. Also, you can't attach traditional mobiles to this crib. Just beware of the paint!

Very Nice
By Expectant motherSite Member from Arizona on 12/2/2008

Comments about DaVinci Emily 4-in-1 Crib - White:

We got this in white, and it arrived in just over a week WITHOUT ANY damage. It's very sturdy, and looks lovely in the baby's room. The only complaint I have is that one of the bolts arrived without having been drilled out from the factory, so there was no place to insert the screwdriver. We had to make a mad dash to the hardware store before they closed, and fortunately they had one that was similar enough to use.
