  • Ergo Baby Carrier - Black/Camel

Using the ERGObaby carrier gives you continuous connection, fabulous feeling of freedom, and security knowing your baby is safe. This is the all-in-one soft baby carrier, assisting you through all the stages of your baby's growth and moving from front to hip to back position easily. Parents say that the ERGObaby carrier is the best of all the baby carriers on the market. It was designed by Karin Frost and has undergone extensive testing by tens of thousands of parents. Its innovative design makes wearing your baby comfortable for hours at a time, gives you the freedom to remain active and productive in your daily life, and holds your baby secure to your body so you are HandsFree. The ERGObaby carrier's ergonomic design supports a correct sitting position for the baby's hip, pelvis and spine growth. It disperses most of the baby's weight between the hips and thighs, which helps to eliminate compression of the spine when hanging by the crotch, that most other designs require. The ERGObaby also balances the baby's weight to parents' hips and shoulders, and alleviates physical stress for the parent.

Comments about Ergo Baby Carrier - Black/Camel:

I just got this carrier before a family vacation. I had a Baby Bjorn which I loved, but my daughter was getting to heavy for me to comfortably carrier her in it -she is about 17lbs. I had read the reviews and a good friend recommended this carrier. I used it every day of the vacation. My daughter was able to sleep while on the go and I was even able to nurse her while walking around. It was very comfortable.

I'm not sure how well this would have worked when she was a newborn, but for her age now it's great. I'm also looking forward to using it as a back carrier.

Comments about Ergo Baby Carrier - Black/Camel:

I have tried about 6 different baby carriers and heard great things about this one. I was so excited when it finally came in the mail. Unfortunately, there's one major problem. Your baby CANNOT be in a forward facing position. My son hates the rear facing position and only wants to be facing forward, looking out. He likes to see everything going on and be a part of the action. If your baby prefers to face forward, don't get this carrier! I was disappointed.

Comments about Ergo Baby Carrier - Black/Camel:

I don't understand why everyone loves this carrier. Maybe when my son is older it will work out better. I haven't worn it for longer than half an hour, but each time I have he is broiling hot when he comes out of it. When he is struggling and moving around (which is often), it is difficult to put on; many times I have just given up. When I do get it on, he seems crushed in the infant insert -- his feet are folded up between his body and my belly. It is also hard on my back. Overall, it seems opposite of what I had hoped for. I'm now considering the Moby Wrap. I had thought that would be too complicated to use, but the Ergo carrier is not as easy to get on as it appears.

Comments about Ergo Baby Carrier - Black/Camel:

The Ergo saved me a couple of months ago when my baby wouldn't let me put her down. She also wouldn't nap unless she was in it! Once I bought the Ergo, I felt like I had more freedom - she didn't like her carseat/stroller combo much, but I could go shopping with her in the Ergo, and she would tolerate that much better. I could also get a lot more housework done wearing her in the Ergo. Now she's almost five months and more interested in looking out than at me, but that's not Ergo's fault! I predict I'll be able to use it again in another few months.

Comments about Ergo Baby Carrier - Black/Camel:

I had the Baby Bjorn and at some point early on carrying my son in it proved too much for my back and shoulders. He also looked incredibly uncomfortable sitting in it with all his weight squarely on his spine and the carrier holding him only at the crotch. The Ergo let him sit naturally and it was heaven the moment I put it on because it made my son feel half as heavy as he really was. I could (and did) carry him all day in it. I would do dishes, walk the dog, fold laundry...all with two hands! What a difference this thing made in my life. I could go to the mall and skip the bulky stroller because he was happy to be held by Mommy in it, I was happy to strap him to my chest and walk along with two free hands, and his weight in it was in a natural spot for me so I never tired (it was like where his weight was when I was pregnant, front and lower than most other baby carriers - very natural-feeling and comfortable) and the Ergo has a zippered compartment in front to hold my keys and credit cards. Nothing is missing. There's even a privacy hood so you can shield baby from stranger's well-meaning caresses as well as block the view when you're nursing. I bought a L'oved Baby Nursing Shawl for nursing and I used it with this carrier - you couldn't see a thing whereas the privacy hood allows a bit to be visible from the sides (though not much, and some moms will not feel the need to cover up, which is totally fine as well...just adding this info for those who'll find it useful). The shoulder straps are luxuriously padded so you won't mind them one bit, and the back strap keeps them from slipping off your shoulders. The one downside was the learning curve for wearing baby on the back and/or hip..and I found wearing baby on my back uncomfortable after he grew a bit because the waist strap wasn't padded at all and cut into my stomach. Wearing him in the front was never an issue and was my preferred way of using the carrier, only stopping because he became to heavy to carry in it at 26 lbs (despite them saying it goes to 90, I am only 113 lbs myself so there was no way I could carry a kid that big, and what kid is 90 lbs? Most kids will be able and willing to walk long before 90 lbs so for most that quoted size use is just them showing off, lol!)

Comments about Ergo Baby Carrier - Black/Camel:

I have owned an Ergo since my daughter was 11 months old. She is now 2.5 years and we use this constantly. I got it because she was getting too big for a Bjorn and when you have two kids, the youngest gets carried a lot. We travel constantly and my daughter loves it. She knows that when gets tired, she can ask to get in it and take her nap (she falls asleep instantly -- the hood is VERY helpful). I have been known to carry her for more than 3 or 4 hours in it. It is very well balanced and comfortable. It is truly my #1 travel accessory.

Comments about Ergo Baby Carrier - Black/Camel:

Overall..... I really love my ergo> I have gone through many baby carriers and this one is OS easy to use and my son loves being carried in it. Because of the simplicity of use, you will find yourself using it more often ie. in the home,or traveling. THE ONLY PROBLEM...... the standard ergo is NOT made for people that are of average size!!! If you want to fit comfortably.... get the waist extension. Its an extra $8.00 but I guess I will deal with it since I am otherwise happy with the product. If you are a really large person, I would go with the sports model as this has a longer waist belt.

Comments about Ergo Baby Carrier - Black/Camel:

I also own other carriers (mei tei and a stretchy wrap), and while I've enjoyed both of them, Ergo has been my go-to carrier since I bought it (the poor mei tei is now stored in the car, in case I forget the Ergo). It truly is a stroller replacement. If your baby likes to snuggle, she'll enjoy being close to you and seeing the world at your eye-level. It's very comfortable, especially the back-carry. I even use it for hiking. But I'd wait until a baby was ~4 months old to use this; until then, I'd use a sling, mei tei, or wrap.

My wife and I were surprised that the waist belt had to be extended almost to the very end in order to fit. I am an average size male and I prefer the ErgoSport (we ordered both to compare). The waistband is longer and the material overall will make baby and user cooler. Would definitely not recommend if you are a plus size woman or an average male. Also, if you are on the fence about the price I would say look for something cheaper. Nothing about this product screamed that it was worth [$]

Comments about Ergo Baby Carrier - Black/Camel:

I had looked at several different carriers but they did not meet my standards or my needs. I saw someone in the grocery store with this carrier and at first glance, it caught my eyes so I had to take a closer look! I stopped the mom to ask her about it and to get the name of it! I ordered one immediately!!! I love it!!! It's stylish but most of all it is comfortable to wear and my son (who's 13 months/22 lbs/32 in.long) is comfortable in it! I use it mostly when I'm grocery shopping or out and about. I am very particular about my son and how he's cared for. I feel a lot safer with him on me than in a shopping cart which poses various dangers. Now, I am stopped and asked about this carrier and I highly recommend it!!!

Love the solid construction and fairly straightforward usage. I have a 1 1/2 year old daughter who is too big for all of our other carriers but who we still would prefer to "wear" than "push". For an upcoming flight we purchased the Ergo and WOW! wish that this was the one and only carrier we had purchased. Look forward to using it with her soon-to-be younger sibling from the start.

This is the EASIEST carrier I have ever used!
we were given 3 different carriers/slings at our baby shower, I struggled with each one for several months thinking that all carriers were like that.

THEN, I broke down and bought and ERGO. from day one baby and I both were in love. no more struggling to get baby in and out. he seems really comfortable and almost always ends up sleeping in it.
This Carrier is 100% worth the money!

Comments about Ergo Baby Carrier - Black/Camel:

The Ergo is tops. Use it when shopping, walking outdoors (a stroller alternative), traveling; any time I have the chance, I use it. I've tried Baby Bjorn, Maya wrap, Moby wrap, Baby Hawk, and they all killed my back and shoulders and/or were impossible to put on. Recently I toted my amply sized 9-month-old (22 lbs.) through the airport in the Ergo during a long day of traveling, and my back didn't suffer one bit.

Started out with a Moby wrap. That lasted exactly 2 uses. I couldn't handle the time it took to get it wrapped right nor the fact that I had the wrap dragging on the dirty ground anywhere I needed to put it on. Switched to the Ergo and haven't looked back! We use it for everything from weekend hikes to quick runs to [...]

Once you have tried this carrier you can not go back. It is easy to put on and adjust and so comfortable. I used it when our daughter was 2 months and am still using it at 14 months. I carried her all over several National Parks this summer, she loved it and so did my back and shoulders! You can not go wrong with this carrier, I promise you will use it.
