I read a lot of reviews of all the diaper holders before I bought this one. And it seemed that there were a lot of mixed reviews on them. I decided to buy this one and I have 2. One was actually in our living room for a few months and the other is in the nursery.

I love it. It has never smelled. Dirty diapers have smelled but I have never had a problem with the smell leaking. Just take out the diapers every 2 days or so.

It is easy to use. The bags are easy to tear and tie a knot. It stays clean.

Another plus of this diaper genie is that you can find the refills practically anywhere. Of course you would want to buy them at diapers.com but in a pinch, you can even find them at your local neighborhood drugstore.

I'd buy this again for my next kid. Or I will just keep mine for the next one.

A no-brainer. The "elite" model has a foot pedal, which is convenient when dealing with a messy diaper. NO SMELL at all. We bought two- one for upstairs, one for downstairs. Easy to assemble and use.

i love this product! I am a cloth diapering mom by day, disposable diaper by night. With that being said, we dont go through a ton of disposables so i only empty the genie about once a week (meaning that diapers sit in there for a long time!).

I can say that my dog who seems to get into anything that smells like baby does not bother the genie at all. It contains all of the diaper smell and is easy to use - no sticking your hand in to push down dirty diapers.

Would recommend this to anyone and will be buying for anyone i know who has it on their registry. You wont be sorry!

I have the original diaper genie. The one that the top twists. It works great. Contains the smell and is easy to use. I used this one at my friends house several times and I was very dissapointed. It does not contain the smell as well when it is closed. When you put in another diaper you have to push it down into the area where all of the other diapers and and you get a horrible whoosh of disgusting smell. The original the top turns, twisting the sack and sealing off the other diapers forever so you never have to smell the old diapers again. Also the newer diaper genies have been designed to hold less sacks, and are about the same price. I get probably twice as many sacks in my refill than the ones for this diaper genie. The original product was Great. I'm sure the company was just trying to boost sales, but they did a horrible job of redesigning this. Why mess with something that already worked so well. I am not impressed with any of the new models because none of them twist. The twist is the key to sealing off the smell!!! Search for the original diaper genie. You won't be dissapointed in that.

After doing extensive research, I bought this for my nursery. It worked great (kept smell down, operated smoothly) for the first 6 mos. However, it recently broke, making it a huge pain to use with every diaper change. I expected more from this product and am disappointed that it only lasted 6 mos. (FYI, for the 6 mos. we used it, our home was stink free.) My only other complaint is that we did have to change the bag every 2nd or 3rd day or so as it does not hold that many diapers. (So, maybe that is the reason why our home was stink free.)

I loved this product while it worked for 4 months. It seems a little expensive to replace every 4 months though. I did try to fix it, but I think it is broken beyond repair.

This product lasted only about 6 days, then ceased working correctly. The inner clamp froze and prevented us from using it at all. We attempted to try to fix it ourselves, but were worried to break it further because of the flimsy plastic construction. I returned it and did get a new one. I don't have high hopes for this one. I suggest getting a different product.

I absolutely love this system! Other people have said theirs have broken on them and not contained the smell very well but I am happy to say I have no complaints. I have been using this since the day our wee one came home from the hospital and to this day (one year later) it is still in great working condition. It is practically new. I did not like the fact that it was so plain so I bought these big stickers that are meant as childrens wall decor and put them on the diaper genie. It is so cute, matches his room, and keeps the stinky diapers from making his room smelly. I would absolutely recommend this product to every mom!

The Diaper Genie II is awesome - we used it, and still do, for our twins. I bought this remake thinking that an improvement on a great product would be a must have for our new baby. This thing, like most sequels, is a piece of junk. They took the perfectly simple, well made and workable design of the Genie II and made it complicated - it doesn't hold nearly as many diapers, doesn't contain the smell as well and has broken on us twice. The first time, I took it apart and figured out how to fix it. This time, I'm throwing it out. I am going to search high and low to find a second Genie II!

I bought 2 Diaper Genie IIs for my daughter when she was born and when we saw this come out we loved it so much we replaced them! What an improvement! The taller height increases the capacity of the pail and the addition of the foot pedal makes it easier to drop in diapers. If you've ever had to squeeze a really gross diaper into the Diaper Genie or Diaper Genie II you'll appreciate the new features. Totally worth buying!

I love the foot pedal for ease and covenience. It even has a cutter to make changing the bag quick and easy. I use this every time I change a diaper, even my husband likes it.

I use the diaper genie everyday & often. My daughter is only six weeks old so we still use approx. 8-9 diapers per day. I do agree that the hole to stick the diapers in, is a bit small.Currently we have no problems with it, but in the future I can see where that would be an issue. The plastic hidge that holds the genie together (where you press the button & cut the bag)isn't the most sturdy design I've ever seen but have had no problem with it. This was given to me as a gift at my shower, and I absolutely love it. I have had no problems with the genie what-so-ever. It holds in odor very well. It is in my bedroom right now since I still have Rylee in a bassinet ( easier during night hours) and I can't smell a thing. The taller design holds alot of diapers. I do change the bag every 4 days or sooner, but it's worth every penny if my household isn't smelling like a dirty diaper! :)

I got this item before my baby was born, having heard that a Diaper Genie is a must. I agree, you need a product that can contain the smell of diapers, and this one does it well. HOWEVER, it is cheaply made and has broken on us 3 times! Luckily we have been able to exchange it for a new one each time. Still, I'd recommend researching other brands of diaper pails, since this is so fragile, and the refills are a rip off.
