I started out using this product with 1 tbsp of cereal with about 2 tbsp of breastmilk. I have since doubled it with a little less breastmilk since my kiddo gobbles this stuff right up! All cereal (no matter the brand) tastes like wallpaper paste so I added a VERY small dash of cinnamon in it and he just keeps opening his mouth spoonful after spoonful to get more. I told my doc about what I did & told me that it was a great idea and that cinnamon is good for the body. Great little trick for whatever brand you decide to use but why not use organic even if you have to water it down more then other brands -- It's good to know your kiddo is getting a good honest product.

I was using Happy Bellies, but tried this brand because it uses less packaging for more food and it costs less.

Upon closer inspection on the box, I saw that you actually have to use more cereal (4 Tbsp vs. 3 Tbsp) than Happy Bellies to get fewer calories (50 vs. 60).

Earth's Best mixes up very lumpy and needs more water to blend it smoothly. The resulting volume of food was almost adult-sized, which took a long time to feed to my baby and I was concerned he wouldn't eat it all because it was so much to eat.

I tasted it. It tastes just like their rice cereal, which tastes bland and flavorless.

My son has been on this rice from the start. I am a firm believer that white rice, breads, etc, are just empty calories. I chose this kind since it is whole grain and organic. My son loves it. I have noticed that it dries up quickly, but we just add it to his steamed pureed veggies and it blends right in. We wouldn't use anything else!

We gave the rice cereal to my son as his first food at 5 months of age. I started with a watery consistency (using my breastmilk) to help him with the transition from bottle to spoon. He did incredibly well and by the 4th day we're at a thicker consistency and he literally laps it up. After each spoonful, he quickly has his mouth open for more.

After reading some of the negative comments, I think it's important to remember what all of the baby books remind us - all babies are different. So what might work well for some, may not work for others. We're very happy this product worked well for us!

I tried Gerber first & both boys were not that interested. Then we tried this, both boys took to it right away. I agree the packaging is not great, but I just keep mine in a container. I also mix whatever fruit/veggie they are having that day. Both boys really enjoy it & I've had no issues with reactions.

My son loves this cereal! He just turned two and still asks for it. I have tried to give him regular oatmeal with brown sugar, pumpkin, etc. and he pushes them away. When I give him this oatmeal he asks for seconds.

My daughter really likes the Multi-Grain and the Oatmeal from Earth's Best. I've tried the Gerber cereals as well since they are slightly cheaper but I don't get as smooth texture. My daughter seems to like the taste of EB better. I can't really comment on the ease of use w/ the packaging because like I said I've only used this and Gerber. Gerber has the same cardboard packaging unless you get the DHA one.

I have read a few reviews that complained about the packaging, saying they will not buy it because they make a mess when using it. All you have to do is pour it into a tupperware, problem solved.

I started out giving baby Gerber rice cereal and switched to Earth's Best organic multi-grain cereal with barley, etc. I noticed when I changed his diaper, little brown specs that wouldn't come off of his skin easily and it took wiping numerous times. Within the same morning I fed it to him, it gave him diarreah and such a bad diaper rash. So, I gave it a couple of weeks and tried giving it to him again. The same problems so I threw the stuff away and will be going back to Gerber brown rice cereal. Organic or not, it isn't worth watching my boy go through such pain for some stinkin' grains!~

My son started eating this around 9 months and liked it so much we are still feeding it to him at 15 months. He loves to eat it with his veggies. We make a bowl of it with his dinner and he throws his cut up carrots, peas, green beans, etc. in the bowl and self feeds the cereal and veggies with a spoon. It's a great filler and good practice for self-feeding with a spoon. He's never had stomach issues, rashes or constipation from this product like other reviewers have mentioned, but he doesn't seem to have food or skin sensitivites in general so maybe that's the difference.

My son started using this rice at 5 months old and I cannot feed it to him fast enough. I mix 2 T of this with 2 oz of soy milk and feed him this with a spoon at night. Only gave 4 stars because of the packaging. I have to put whole box in Ziploc bag or pour contents into plastic container.

I'm fine with the cereal. It is thick and you have to add a lot of liquid, but I don't mind that. What I do mind is how terrible the dispenser is on this. They used to have a plastic flap, but now it is cheap cardboard. Every time I feed him this, I spill loads of dry cereal on the counter. We ended up transferring all of the cereal to another container. I will not buy this again unless they improve their packaging. It's just not worth all the clean up.

My Son is 5 months and I am Breast feeding and I decided to give him cereal at night to satisfy him more throughout the night. It is working out great. I mix it with my Breast milk and keep it more on the runny side, a little thinner than yogurt. As he gets older I will thicken it some by adding less milk. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! As with all Earth's Best foods, there is wonderful peace of mind with buying their products and knowing that they are all organic, and this cereal is also whole grain - an added bonus. Before buying EB cereal, I had previously bought Gerber's mixed grain cereal and was very happy with it. I would have preferred to buy organic, however, and bought EB brand as soon as I found it. From the first time I made EB cereal I could tell it was different from Gerber, and not in a good way! It takes a ton of breastmilk or formula to make. I keep adding more milk, stirring, and then it's dry again and I have to add more. It takes about 4+ oz of milk just to make a tiny bowl (4 TBSP of cereal). No matter how much milk you use, the cereal is always lumpy and sticky - it never gets creamy or smooth like Gerber's. When I tried feeding it to my daughter (who loves cereal), she frowned and chewed around like something was wrong. We managed to finish the box, but I'm sticking to Gerber from now on - even though it's not organic, which breaks my heart!
