We used to use Dr. Browns bottles exclusively, but someone gave us this one and it's become my daughter's absolute favorite bottle. She'll even hold it herself where she won't hold others. The fact that it's BPA-free is an added bonus. Just ordered a Born Free sippy cup. I'll never go back to anything else!

my daughter is 4 weeks and we have purchased multiple brands and types. Friends swore by the drop in bottles but she was unable to suck good enough. these bottles are by far the best we've used. I will be going back tomorrow to buy more!

I've tried so many different bottles, bc I did not want to pay more for these. I got one as a gift, and it is ten times better than other bottles. It is the only bottle I have tried that doesn't leak, and my baby doesn't have a problem latching on to the nipples. I swear it is worth spending the extra money!

It is the best bottle ever that works with your budget because you can use it longer compared to other bottles. I bought a dozen for my baby when he was 3 months old now his 7 months old and the whole set are still good. My child loves it too! I highly recommend it.

Not so great for small baby
By BBarrilleauxVerified Reviewer from Mississippi on 10/15/2009
Pros:
Durable, No colic, Washes Well
Cons:
Nipples
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent

Comments about Born Free BPA Free Plastic bottle - 9 oz - 2 pk:

My baby didn't have gas or spit up problems with this bottle but it was soooo difficult for her to latch onto the nipple. It was like the nipple was too long and big for her little mouth. I like the bottle but wish they had smaller nipples. She uses another bottle that is smaller and has no problems latching but some spit up now.

We chose these over Avent and Dr. Brown
By ParisVerified Reviewer from New York, NY on 8/26/2009
Pros:
Cleans easily, Comfortable, No leak
Cons:
More parts

Comments about Born Free BPA Free Plastic bottle - 9 oz - 2 pk:

We used Avent bottles for the first 14 months and were unhappy with the way they leaked. So we purchased Dr. Brown and Born Free sets and tried them out head-to-head against the Avent. Both the Dr. Brown and Born Free sets avoided the leaking problem we had with the Avent. And both have the downside of having more parts to fiddle around with and wash and store and keep track of. (The Avent has the air-release built into the nipples, whereas both Dr. Brown and Born Free use two-part inserts to vent air. More parts, but less leakage).

We chose Born Free because the inserts are made of silicone instead of rubber, and because the Dr. Brown bottles are narrow and it is more fiddly to remove and clean up the inserts. We also just thought the Born Free bottles looked nicer and handled more easily and seemed to have more solid construction. We've been very happy with our choice. The extra parts make it a little more of a chore to take apart and wash and put away the parts of these bottles compared with the Avent, but it sure is worth it to avoid seeing half a bottle suddenly spill down your baby's front right before you want to put her to bed.

These bottles are great. Haven't tried the Dr. Browns, but have also used Playtex drop-ins and Avent. Avents are just okay, and we also like the Playtex Drop-ins.
We have had no issues with leaking with the Born Free. Did have some leaking with Avent.
Although there are many parts, it's not that big of a deal to wash them. Biggest complaint is the ill-fitting caps - does make it difficult to travel with these bottles. Also have had zero collapsed nipples.
We could not use these bottles until our son was about 7 weeks old, however, as the Level 1 (slow flow) nipples were still too fast. He has since moved on to the Level 2 and is doing just fine with them.

Great bottles. I have the plastic and the glass versions. I use the glass ones at home and use the plastic ones at grandma's or when traveling. There are a lot of parts to clean (5) but you get the hang of it after awhile. Dr. Brown's have the same number of parts. My baby does well on BornFree bottles. He rarely spits up and have minimal gas.

The jury's out...

Flimsy lid

Comments about Born Free BPA Free Plastic bottle - 9 oz - 2 pk:

Bought these to try out the venting system and in preparation for when the baby starts holding the bottle on his own. Was using Dr. Brown's glass bottles before. I like the fact that these have a wide nipple base, so the baby's mouth is not rubbing up against the plastic top. I don't like how the bottle cap does not stay on - makes very awkward for taking along in a bag. The Dr. Brown's bottle caps are stay firmly attached. Also, still not feeling too comfortable with plastic vs. glass. Would have bought the glass version, but the flimsy cap thing will probably make me buy more Dr. Brown's bottles.

I highly recommend these bottles for gassy babies! I recently purchased the Born Free bottles AFTER being very dissatisfied with the Avent and Playtex bottles. The Born Free bottles are great and eliminate the problems I had with the other brands(lots of gas/spit up, leaky, and difficult to clean). Now my son can eat with out getting excess gas and becoming upset! Also, I HATE doing dishes but really don't mind the extra 2 pieces to clean with these bottles- they are easy to clean quickly and well worth the few extra minutes of dishes.

I love these bottles. My son spits so much less with these bottles and he has never sucked in the nipple. We have the variable flow nipples which respond to how fast he sucks and he does really good with them. I love that they are BPA Free and I would not use anything with him that was not BPA free. I think that these bottles are great.

I LOVE these bottles. I used Dr. Brown's bottles and they gave my daughter HORRIBLE gas, plus they had BPA so I switched to the non-BPA ones from Dr. Brown's and they leak like crazy!! Never had a problem with the Born Free ones. I've also used the Playtex Drop-ins and unfortunately you can't mix formula in those. So I switched to the Born Free and I'm a loyal customer! Highly recommend them!

Leaks like a newborn...
By f1point0 from New York NY on 11/29/2008
Pros:
NONE
Cons:
Bad Nipple, Flimsy, Leaks, New plastic New Hazard
Describe Yourself:
Parent of Two or More Children
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Born Free BPA Free Plastic bottle - 9 oz - 2 pk:

Leaks like crazy and bad bottle design. Also, this bottle may be BPA free, but I did a little more research and this bottle is made from a new type of plastic which might end up being the next "BPA" a few years from now. There is absolutely no reason to buy this brand anymore as most of the major brands have switched to BPA free designs. We found out that Madela bottles have always been BPA free and most of the Gerber bottles are as well (and some of the Gerbers are even made in USA!).
