While some items like apples and pears are fine, if you put any food that is smooshy like Bananas, cooked carrots, etc in the bag, you will NEVER get the bag clean. A critical design flaw is that the mesh bag cannot be removed, further inhibiting a good cleaning. I threw mine out.

I love this I have a 4 month old who is already teething she Loves this I did not have any problems getting it open I see that some have I will say that it dose need cleaned right away and that bannanas are the worst to get out and you defantly need a bib with it but she Loves it and that is what really maters to me I do with that they would have replacement bag for this one.

I reviewed this item, a few weeks ago and at the time couldn't open it. I am the mom of three under three I gave it a horriable rating because I couldn't open them. Well weeks later not sure if I got stronger but I finally got one opened. My daughter loves it, we use frozen veggies and fruit when teething, and then other foods that can be smooshed thru at meals. I can't give this product 5 stars because its really a hit or miss one of them opens and the other doesn't. Tip For cleaning out banana I usually wash out as much as I can and when its fully dry I take a toothbrush and brush the banana particles away.

Maybe I got lucky becuase I got 2 of them that were very easy to open, also bananas are very hard to clean out of this thing, but I love it! my daugther is 7 months old, I put evrything in this! she especially loves a teething bisquit in this! I just break it in half, since they are long, and stick it in the bag! great for teething too, very messy though so I recommend a bib from all the drooling, but awesome, easy to clean, flip the bag inside out and wash with hot soapy water! very easy!

I have no idea how other fruit may work in this contraption. I will definitely suggest against using bananas in this product. I put a banana in both of the "fresh food feeders" and now they will not come clean. I have hand washed them, dishwashed them, and soaked them. The banana will not come out. What a pathetic product!

The idea behind this product is great. But the design of the locking mechanism makes this feeder useless. I read reviews about it being hard to open, but I went ahead and bought it thinking I could handle it. Wrong.

I couldn't even open it the first time. I was going to reach for the pliers, but then I decided to wait for my husband to come home and open this thing.

Don't they test the prototypes before taking them into production??? go figure.

Our daughter loves these! When I first gave this to her she gave me a look like this goes in where? lol. But, once she started chewing on it she gave me a look like, hey this is really great mom! She loves when I put pieces of apple in it and she chews on it forever. I even keep apples in the refrigerator and cut them up and put them it when she is teething.. it seems to help so much!

The is a terrible product, the mesh bag is very difficult to get clean even hand washing after its been run through the dishwasher. The bag cannot be replaced. Sure it is easier to open than the Sassy brand mesh bag....but as a parent wouldn't you want a more child-safe product and sanitary after each use?

I loved this product because I could just put a chunk of banana in it and it would keep my daughter happy and distracted for a long time. I didn't have to worry about big chunks and choking. However, I was always disappointed after I used it because there are so many places food gets stuck. I would spend so long trying to get food out and never got it clean. Even if I left it in hot water to soak. I had to toss it after only a couple uses. A diff. brand offers disposable mesh.

This is a very fun and useful way to introduce solids. My son is 7 months old and loves apple slices in this - keeps him entertained in his high chair while I am cooking dinner. Those who are concerned, though, should note that this product is not BPA-free. If you are looking for a BPA-free product, check out the Nuby Nibbler. The downside is that the Nibbler is not as easy for baby to hold or as interesting to play with. My son definitely likes the Munchkin better.

I recommend starting it as soon as baby can put things in their mouth, otherwise they might just play with it (I introduced it at 8 months to my son).I use it with my 5 mon. old girl, and she loves it. It allows me to type or cook while she munches on ice chips or a bananna. I don't worry about her choking, and there's less of a mess. I think babies should still be watched closely while using it, though. Younger babies may get frustrated if they can't keep it in their mouth and may need help

I have the "other" brand and love it, but after my dog ate one of the "others," I thought I'd try this brand because it was locally available and a good price. However, I could not get it open. Even my husband (who has strong hands from construction) had to get plyers to get the darn thing open. We're going to exchange it for another one because maybe we just got a bump product, but it looks like at least one other person on this product review has had the same problem.
