My son started using these spoons at about 17 months. He had great success right from the start with these because they hold soupy textured food and have short handles that are ladle shaped and grippy. It's the absolute best spoon for beginner self-feeders.

My son has a medical condition that caused him to have food aversions and eating issues. They use this spoon for toddlers in the feeding program, and he has been able to up his volume and appropriate use of the spoon a great deal since using this spoon.

I don't know how a spoon with holes in it can be used with yogurt, but it can. I have tried MANY different spoons to teach my toddlers to spoon feed and these are the only ones that worked.

I may have introduced these too soon to my one year old. So far, he likes investigating them, but not so much putting food on them. He does seem to be able to hold onto them better than the tiny baby food spoons, and the wider spoon makes me less worried about him gagging. I'm hoping he will grow into these.

These are great for foods like yogurt or spahetti os as the food sticks to the spoon long enough for a tot to get to their mouth. First bought them about 2 years ago and since then have bought more since both my 2yo and 4yo like to use them. Easy for them to hold and makes for less mess. At this point I think their main reason for liking them is the color though.Works for me.
